Finally a dry day.
Opened up the Cub Spacematic, very relieved no moisture inside :cup:, stripped the bed of egg shell foam and mattress protector and set them up to air. :D
I seasoned our new Kings Double swag  after setting it up to check it fitted on the queen size stretcher ;D. It overhangs about 50mm all around, the mattres is actually longer than the Cub Queen mattress. 8)
Applied a coat of bitumen paint to a lead flashing that I suspect is the site of a leak. ???
Put up a couple of shelves above the deep freeze to make room for the new swag and stretcher.
And mowed the blinking lawn before it rains again >:(
Cheers

Hi Terry, what are you using for the baits pls.
I've been using the Green pellets in the Black packets/sachets from  Mortein at the Supermarket.
Supposedly throw packets, but they're lined with plastic.
So I've been ripping them open and dropping the pellets out near where the Rats and mice hang out.
Not sure about my success rate yet.

It's almost Easter so it must be time to give the battery boxes one last check.

Line them all up for the multimeter test

Charge the good ones

I'll be here a while. Haha. I have about 30-36 batteries.

I am using the black block ones that come in sets of 4 each with a hole in them. Forget the brand. I nail them to and under my bench in the shed and to the wooden surrounds of my compost bins - the main attraction. Also have 2 tied up in a fojoia  tree as the rats like to climb these and eat the fruit.

My brother who lives in Hobart and has a small but commercial veggie garden and goats and chickens mixes the pellets with molasses and put them in small pipes so that other animals can't get to them. He says it decimates them.

Purchased a 180w flexible solar for the new camper and wanted to keep the weight and size down. Made a simple stand out collapsible alloy tent poles and a few bits lying around.

The tension in the poles keeps the panel tort and once pegged down hoping it won't blow away.  Time will tell.

To calculate the correct distance from the fire, we need to know a few variables first. Lay of the land, Angle of said solar panel when on ground, Height of said fire, Type of wood used ( this is very important) dry or wet. We also need a Lux meter to know light output of said fire as more wood may, but always needed.

So the calculation goes
M=( Lux ( LayOfLand / AngleOfSolarPanel x 3.142 ) x (( Fire Height x Wood type ) / fire size ) x add wood )
All calculations for fire require meter inputs. Ie. 0.6 for 600mm

Hope this helps.
Any problems I'll explain at the National Meet

Hi All, I made up a new steel bracket for a spotlight I found laying in the middle of the dirt road up near Gympie 6 to 12 months ago, I then rewired and soldered all the joins and switched it on, man its bright, I thought it was a cheap light turns out its made in Aus and its a FYRLYT 150watt zenon bulb worth around $250 to 300 so my lucky day, Craig

As usual not the shed, but house reno time again....reno'd the kitchen about 5 years ago and I had to buy a bifold window that opens out onto the back verandah for that job, at the same shop the guy had an 2040 x 820mm wide 4 glass panel door he wanted to get rid of cheap, so I bought that aswell. That door has been sitting under the house all this time, it was supposed to be for our main bedroom reno that I have avoided doing, but today was the day it finally got installed. Ripped out a double set of casement windows and cut in the hole, fitted a sill and jamb for the door to go in and hung the door today....so now we have access onto our front verandah  8) Job isn't completed yet (due to me starting at 9.00 a.m...lol), will fit the lock tomorrow as the door is currently screwed closed, arcs will wait until I completely reno the bedroom in the coming months sometime.

actually other then the late start, I didn't even stop for lunch today, all I had to eat was 2 pieces of raisin toast all day. Lucky I had a few cans of Coke to keep me going....lol. Door frame and hanging the door took a bit of dicking around, the house was about 20mm out of plumb, so had to try and keep stuff parallel instead of plumb so it didn't look out, etc etc. . Thought about calling you again today, but was to busy.

Photos?
not this time, might take some tomorrow. Normally I take before and after pics of our house reno as I'm doing each room, but didn't take any this time.

Had some folding legs that were ear marked for the camper kitchen, but due to slackness didn't make it there... and anyway, they'd have been too tall.

Big Green Shed had 1800x1200x17mm structural form ply for $50 a sheet... packet of $4 screws and nuts later, and I now have a very functional work table.

The next plan is (another sheet of $50 form ply) to do a false floor for the 4Runner, and then using the following bits and pieces:

The idea being, that I can move the eyes around the 20 or so holes I'll have in the form ply floor as we change how things are loaded (mainly with and without mountain/road bikes as they travel inside the car) allowing us to keep things organised and stable in the back.

The threaded nuts will be pulled through the ply, having been drilled in from the underside, and the screw the eyes into the top (with an allen key on the other side to stop them undoing.

Sorry for jumbo pictures, BGS won't let me make them smaller...
