More like what did I do to my man cave. Gone from single carport to double garage. Got the roof on today. Very happy. More work to be done on the front.
......
Next is cut the arches out, render everything.
Then Cape Leveque for some R&R before attacking the front yard.

Cheers Glen
Awesome work mate.
Looks like it was always meant to be a double. :)

Thought I would catch up on a few jobs that need doing.
Stroll out to the shed, then run back to the house

I started pulling the motor out of the Caddy.... :'(   (Well, yesterday actually)

We killed it last Sunday. Coming home from Cleveland in Brisbane, we were just gliding along with the traffic easily and when we were 300 metres from home, it momentarily dropped a cylinder and then back to 8 again and dropped the cylinder again...dead.

An inspection showed a spark plug had been "Tapped shut" so straight away, I knew we had a serious issue. Compression test showed a dead cylinder and a close inspection of the plug revealed a small bit "piston like material" jammed in between the porcelain and the body of the plug.

Geez, isn't a Cadillac just a huge friggin car to have to work on. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING weighs a ton.

Never mind, we'll sort it and be back on the road soon.
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

I've been chipping away at my office and storage in the new shed.

And I took advantage of the wet day yesterday to knock up another small mezzanine over the back roller door.
As a boilermaker I'm pretty happy with how my timber work is tuning out. I'm making a lot of it up as I go along, but so far it's been working out OK for me.

Bit of late night shed and beer action.

Thought I'd make a trailer light tester, so it can be a 1 man job to check them.

Had a pile of switches and trailer plugs lying around, along with a roll of 7 core cable.

Grabbed a 10amp breaker and jiffy box from Jaycar. Also pulled apart one of those cheap cordless airbed pumps for its 1.3ah battery and charger.

Bit of drilling, cutting, stripping and crimping.

Hot glued in a plug for the ac charger.

Wired in 6m of 7 core cable with a 7 pin flat socket.  I'll use an adapter for round plugs.

Tried to colour code the switches to the wiring. Top row for the lights. Bottom row for electric brakes and auxiliary / reverse (red). 10amp circuit breaker and the black switch for power on/off.

Just need to find the dymo machine to add some labels.

G'day ,

I have been mucking around in me shed building a boat trailer for me tinny , but not just a trailer but also a boat loader for me Trackabout camp trailer

Ok , I admit the idea is not mine , I did copy the idea/concept from another builder , but for the price that I have built mine for would be less than 1/6 of the cost for me to buy the factory built one .

The trailer

Boat/trailer loaded on to the Trackabout

Load time on me own including taking photos was less than 5 minutes .

Fitted a set of bar risers to the DR. Lowering plates for the foot pegs are on order. Had the bike for six years and have been saying for the last 5.5 years that I was going to do this. Sat on one last week that had been done and the difference is chalk and cheese. Looking at putting a fat pipe on it and a pumper carb conversion as well. Heck, I even started polishing it just to see if it can be pretty again.
Cheers, Mike.

A few small projects completed recently.

Not sure it's big enough to call a shed. Maybe let's call it a garden locker.

Sorted out some shelving in the garage.

Also knocked up a kids bench seat for a friend.

While being stranded on Jimboomba Island for the last 4 days I spent a bit of quality time in the shed trying to organise things, don't think I got very far but at least everything is off the floor now.

Also realised the shed isn't going to be the camper storage area I had hoped it would be.

Yearly Full service on the camper today.
Brgs repacked, brakes adjustment, jockey wheel stripped, cleaned repacked. Wheel alignment checked, suspension greased.
Just need to get new water filter cartridge. Forgot to do that when I had the camper opened. That'll be a Wednesday job when at Mansfield.

Did a monumental clean up of the garden shed. Evicted the rats - and killed a couple. Baits out and about including in the Feijoa tree - they love them.
