I have done it through Apia... but it was a big hassle and not at all straight forward....
I looked at swapping all of our insurance across to APIA as they're supposed to be so good for seniors
Started checking reviews though & it appears that they're an absolute pack of sod's when it comes to paying out on claims
, so still looking.
Just had a read of my RACQ "caravan" policy & they will cover contents (unfixed furniture, domestic goods [pots, pans, glasses], clothing or personal effects) & valuables (jewellery, watches, portable electronic equipment & computers; but not cash, cards, mobiles, gem stones or sporting equipment) inside your "caravan", but won't cover anything that's in the annex or if there's no signs of forced entry.
No mention of CT or definition of what is a caravan & what isn't.
Limit is $500 after you pay relevant excess eg if your $1800 fridge goes (from inside the van & there's forced entry visible), & you have a $600 excess, they pay $500 & you pay the remaining $700
If it goes from under the annex, or off the fridge slide, too bloody bad
Methinks is time to investigate options for CT insurance!
