Hope so...damage control me thinks...they have flicked mud all over themselves....sponsors don't like their brand being tarnished

Agree. I'll bet Red Bull would be having a fair say in this too.

That's the rule with any leased race car.

Yep. What's the old saying.  You bend you spend.

Generally the deal with pay drivers is set fee per round to cover crew, consumables, general wear & tear, etc. Plus any costs accociated with crashes,  no matter who's fault it is on the track.

No doubt it gets murky if the crash is a result of component failure...

Heard on the wireless this morning that RBR are going to an international court now. I understand there is bulk money in this level of racing with sponsership and stuff but frig me swingin' it's taking it to the state where you may as well not have a race at all. Just build a car and see who can afford the best lawyer to Shite on the rest of the contestants. He with the mostest wins. I'm starting to lose interest in v8 supercars. Rapidly. I have a few vids of the oldie bathurst races I run while I'm mucking in the cave and the more I watch of them the less I like todays efforts. OK there were a few bad calls made back then, but they just sucked it up and moved on. It was exciting edge of the seat racing. Not the parade of same same cars today with the biggest budget winning.
Yeah...I know...I'm a philistine, but sometimes the old ways are the best ways.

A race is won or lost on the race track, not a court room.

RBR needs a good bitch slapping.

Oh, y big turd.....  ;D

Any appeal should be dealt with by the stewards on the day within a few minutes, the decision is then final.
The camera coverage would allow that.

Agree... infact, no "SPORT" should be able to go to court to get a decision. That's why they have Sporting Associations and bodies to control the whole gig.

That's the rule with any leased race car.
It is, and most repair bills are never paid.

A mate leased his VC race car to Phil Brock for the tribute race after Peter died.  Long story short, Phil put it into the wall, blew the diff, and put a different gearbox in it because he "didn't like the ratios", and it was never put back to being good, not repaired.  $15k+ of work later, and it was back where it was before being leased...

Not sure if you read the article you posted, but I thought it was a pretty fair assumption of what went on, and if the appeal failed because they shouldn't have been able to appeal in the first place, then supercars need a good kick up the ar*e..

the more that comes out about the application of the rules still needs refining all round.  From what everyone was saying after the incident was that there was a right to appeal, nothing said that they couldn't.
Cheers

This should be a winner...

I'm payin to go see Colorados race ROTFLMAO!

"The most popular utes in Australia are set to go head-to-head on track as part of a new series managed by the team behind V8 Supercars.

Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore V8 Utes that have supported the category for years will be phased out in 2017 in favour of dual-cab, turbo diesel SuperUtes that are much more relevant to the new car market.

Supercars Australia hopes that a range of utes such as the Toyota HiLux, Volkswagen Amarok, Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara and Holden Colorado will join the grid.
Tentative technical regulations for the series say that the utes must use their original turbo diesel engine, with power set to be capped at an unspecified level. Driving only the rear wheels, the models must weigh no less than 1800 kilograms and not feature downforce-generating aerodynamic spoilers.

NOW is your chance to own one of the coolest pieces of property in Australia.

We all know the famous Mount Panorama is a public road for the majority of the year, and there are residents which have the privilege of calling it home.

Well, now you could join that exclusive club, with the 10 acre property at 505 Conrod Straight now for sale.

Property on Mount Panorama doesn’t become available on a regular basis – 505 Conrod Straight was last sold for $255,000 way back in 2002 – so you will want to get in quick if you are seriously interested.

Oh, you will want some deep pockets; Propertyvalue.com.au estimates the house to currently be worth $2,700,000.

But just imagine how cool it will be to write down your address as 505 Conrod Straight, Bathurst
