Did you remember to take the cap off the top of the gauge, Noel ??? >:D
Haha, wish that was the case. Jimboomba missed out all together. Brown Plains just up the road got 15mm.

Hey Noel, get ready ol mate, the next wave of storms are building up right now.

I've booked 40,000 litres of water for my dam to be delivered tomorrow.
I would love to be able to cancel that, but I bet we still need it.

I've switched water to the tanks that overflow into the main dam.

50 to 60mm, and i'm a happy little swagger, tanks will fill and then I have dam inflows plus the rain inflows.

Past reports, say I will still be getting the water dropped tomorrow.

I just did a naked dance/run around the boundary line..... clouds took off the other way. ???

First decent rain in Nanango this year.

The bit headed for us crashed on the way down the range from Toowoomba.

I doubt we'll get a single drop now.   :'(

One or two of the locals out here, reckons the onion man wouldn't know his arse from his elbow.

I tend to agree.

Some are saying, we'll get rain in Feb, others are saying April.
So, in other words, no silly kent has a glue when it will rain.

The best we can hope for, is a cyclone Cat 1or 2) to develop, cross the coast south of Mackay/north of Rocky.
Once it becomes a rain depression, it would bring very welcome rain to inland Queensland and down to us and northern NSW.

Will it happen.... fukked if I know.

& not just you ???

From BoM:

"Summary of the Tropical Cyclone Seasonal Outlook for the Eastern Region (ie. the Coral Sea and the Tasman Sea):

* For the 2019-20 season, there is ~40% chance of more than average or ~60% chance of fewer than average tropical cyclones in the Coral Sea region.

* In an average season, the Eastern Region has around four tropical cyclones

* Any tropical cyclone in the Eastern Region has a one in four chance of crossing the eastern Australian coastline."

So probably less than 4 cyclones (although it's just about Christmas & not even a whisper of one yet) but only a 1:4 chance of crossing the coast.

Not holding my breath on a cyclone / depression fixing things in the short-term :'(

The forecast highs for this week are shockers.  ???
The worse part, is whatever the forecast, we can always add 2 degrees to it here.
TODAY: 43
TUES: 35
WEDS: 33
THURS: 37
FRIDAY: 40
SATURDAY 41
SUNDAY 41

Went out yesterday and bought two portable Rinnai 3.5kw air conditioners.
Shop price of $799 each, walked out the door at $599 each.

Had one up and running yesterday after the house was locked up all day with a high of 42.
Not as good as a proper unit, but it worked pretty good, all things considered.

Could only fit one unit in the car, so back today for number 2.
Should've been in the Cadillac, could've got both in that at one time.

It certainly cooled things down. The local dog park was packed between 6 and 7 tonight. The only downside is the pool will be full of leaves again in the morning.

The humidity has been really up and down these last few days.

Has been getting up around the 70% here and there, but at 10am this morning it was only 30%....

I reckon they are pretty good for the money spent. ($599 each)
Little bit of noise, just a bit of farting around to work out the best spot for them.

In Gatton yesterday morning, the "outside temp" on the statesman showed 44 at 10:30 am.
Here at home, with it parked in the carport since midday, at 3:15, it showed 49.

I know a place down the road was showing 45 on their verandah, so 49 might be correct.

Had to shake my head watching the news last night.

They said that "Gatton hit 43.3, while Ipswich at 43.1 was the hottest place in SEQ" ???

Probably shouldn't blame her too much - she's probably never been any further west than Ipswich in her life! >:D

Bloody 'ell, with my teeth out, i look like a friggin sock puppet.
Had to give the nudie run a miss fairly early into the run, after I stepped on one of my own nuts.
It would seem, at 60, underwear is a necessity rather than an option. :-[

Haven't checked the gauge yet, but I think we would've got 20 or 25mm last night.
Now that was pretty good rain, but I need more, I need this friggin dam up at least a metre.

I've put in 56,000 litres so far and its still low enough, that evaporation is still a big issue.

The turtles and birdlife always give me a thumbs up though whenever I shell out for water.

Dont be a tight arse.  Just buy 500,000 black plastic balls to drop in the dam and prevent evaporation...
