I expect just like every other day, I’ll be awake just before dawn.
Then we’ll head down to the beach sometime just after sunrise, should be swimming in the 22 degree ocean by 5:45am.

Not looking good for today.
Tops of around 37 degrees in Brissy and extreme fire danger for the whole SE corner.

Looks like Peachtrees camping area could be getting burnt out now.

Quote
LEAVE NOW: Jimna bushfire as at 3.25pm Fri 8 Nov
Bushfire warning level: WATCH AND ACT
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a bushfire approaching Jimna from the west, and conditions are getting worse.
Follow your bushfire survival plan now. If you do not have a plan, your safest option is to leave now if it is clear to do so. If you are not in the area, do not return, as conditions are too dangerous.
Currently as at 3.25pm Fri 8 November, a fast-moving fire is travelling towards Peach Trees Camping Area and the town of Jimna. The fire is approaching from the west. It is expected to impact the Jimna township within the hour. The fire could have a significant impact on the community.
Fire crews are working to contain the fire but firefighters may not be able to protect every property. You should not expect a firefighter at your door. Power, water, and mobile phone service may be lost.
People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
Police are in the area assisting people to evacuate. People should evacuate south via Kilcoy Murgon Road, towards Kilcoy. An evacuation centre is open at Kilcoy Memorial Hall

Dunno bout batten down, but hope our locals are safe up there

Residents of Forest Ridge, about 110 kilometres south-west of Toowoomba, have been urged to take shelter with a large bushfire potentially posing a threat to "all lives directly in its path".

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services upgraded the fire to "emergency" level after 2pm on Wednesday as the fire approached Cypress Avenue and Wallaby, Koala and Kimberley drives at nearby Cypress Gardens.

But by 3.30pm QFES had advised those in Forest Ridge near Paddys Creek Road and its intersection with Pine Ridge Road it was "too late to leave".

"Your safest option is to identify where you will seek shelter from the bushfire," the warning read.

Apparently, over 10 fire fighters injured already.

No burns or anything, just from tripping over the Sunrise and Today TV crews and reporters.

43 degrees for Saturday now for us.... faaaaarrk

The first one went through..... radar (not him) said it was pissing down. (not sure how accurate the radar is)
Not enough to wet the roof, not one drop in the tanks.

Second one, Shit load of wind, some rain and this morning, we have had 6.4mm

Never thought i'd see the day, when such a piddly amount of rain, would excite me.
