Well here's what I mean. When I bought my Jayco I was given the Tekonsha Primus IQ controller and bracket with it and then purchased a new harness kit to install it in my car but then got a bit carried away with Tekonsha's Prodigy RF trailer mounted unit and so the IQ has been cluttering up the shed since. Now I could put it on Gumtree or ebay for a few bucks but I'd rather it go to some worthy Myswagger instead, but how to choose from among all the worthy folk out there?

Well being a market man the solution selects itself and in the absence of a facility on the Giveaway Thread at present I propose to let any interested party put a price on it til 5pm next Sunday (contact me with your offer) and the winner donates their winning bid to Myswag in an honour system. In that sense I think the Giveaway thread would be better served for us all in the broader sense if it facilitated this sort bidding and transfer of donated items.

OK so the kit pictured is at my place for pickup at Glenelg East in Adelaide and weighing 450gms, with packaging and dropping in an Express Post bag it's likely to weigh over the 500gm threshold and cost $14.80 to post anywhere ($13.40 in a Standard bag) So normally if the donor isn't to be out of pocket the bidder would have to account for paying them postage or else the locals have the upper hand with pickup and in many cases that will be the only option with large/heavy items. Well since I've mooted the idea of facilitating a bit of economic rent (yes I've studied the dismal science) going to a worthy communal cause rather than being captured by a lucky individual, I will post this item at my expense to the worthy winning bidder for the first time around and in the spirit of the current call for assistance.

Nice offer prodigyrf, and congrats for getting into the swing of things.

And to cap things off GeoffA has very generously offered to tip in $105 for the Primus IQ.
That's clearly above and beyond the call of duty in relation to the item and my suggestion the Giveaway thread be renamed the Donation thread with a few bucks being bid or tipped in by the beneficiaries of donated goods.
I do recall a Swagger kindly offering to mail an Aldi mobile sim for the missus phone when we were caught up the NW with the Kogan Mobile/ISPOne fallout. He mailed it to meet us at a Geraldton cara park on our way and didn't want reimbursing for his trouble so I tipped in another tenner for Myswag at the time. As I said it's not about the real value of the goods, but a bit of an income stream to keep up with hardware and bills for the benefit of all forum members.
In any case it looks like the rest of you have responded well to B&S challenge.
