Cooking Shows Gezzzzzzzzzz
« on: April 19, 2016, 08:31:48 PM »
l am Soooooooo sick of Cooking Shows . The Good , The Bad & The Compostable  ,.
lts just Bovine Extract TV . l have tried to get involved even to the extent of a quick comment on dinner . The carrot & pea ratio was a bit squed to the greens , the spuds are a bit under cooked , the chops were not pink enough .

l hope my thoughts have been forgotten by the time lm released from ICU      :'(

If all these reality tv shows were actually about their theme (ie: cooking, singing, renovating) instead of being 90% Days of Our Lives and 10% actual theme of the show, they'd be watchable. Sadly the clowns that make the shows are more interested in the bitchy beat up catty fights and sob stories of the people on the shows instead, thus making them all unwatchable for me.

You're 100% right there  :cup:

When Burke's Backyard originally did makeover's of someone's backyard, he didn't pretend that he did all the work himself & it was all done to realistic timeframes. Then they went to Backyard Blitz & similar concept so it was all being done in only 3 days, by only a team of 4 (+ another 50 in the background that were never mentioned)  >:(

Stopped watching them then & now all I know about the Block & so on is the ad's & the News articles about them but have absolutely no interest in watching any of it because of the total play-acting. The bit that gets me though (& must you to as a tradie) is what qualifications do these people have to knock walls out, rebuild the entire house & so on, & who is the licensed builder that signs off his licence number to say it's all safe - Scott Camm?  ???

All those building site are run by big companies, think hutchinsons etc etc. the muppets in front of the cameras really don't have too much say in any of it apart from maybe wall colours. Even the Scott camm and the foreman dudes are just there for the tv. All that stuff would be all planned and layed out by engineers and architects well before any of the muppets are even selected for a series.

Guy at my work is about to be on the new series of House Rules. It's been interesting to hear some of what goes on. But he's pretty tight lipped due to their NDA rules

YOU Watch TV .. !

Exactly. I watch the news intermittently and record the shows that have the potential to be intellectually stimulating (has the potential to have boobs in it) or I'm moderately interested in.

With fast forwarding through the ads I can watch a weeks worth of good, non repeated TV... in about an hour and a half.

All those so-called reality TV f%#ktards producers have missed a golden opportunity....

With Brian Johnson bowing out've AC~DC, they could've made a show that the brain dead sheep would lapped up.
Instead of just settling on the light-weight Axle, they could've battled with the likes Beiber, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Kylie Minogue etc etc

If you hate cooking shows or even if you just enjoy a good laugh then check out the Katering show http://iview.abc.net.au/programs/katering-show/ZW0608A001S00

Season 1 was a youtube series and series 2 goes on the ABC

Many members of the family may enjoy this series.  I love the Thermomix episode but some may not

Same as renovation shows, I'm bloody over them too. If I wanted to see a halfwit do a bodgy job as cheap as possible, I'd fix something myself.
