Ah OK.. I wonder why they changed the story... still it could have just been anyone of any ethnicity. Unless it was Brissy south of course

Yep, Brissie south has little trouble with this sort of problem because:
1. Most of the cars have no wheels and are up on blocks.
2. Fast service in the kebab shops means no waiting for an hour.
3. It is far safer for kids that are left in cars in our area, cause if you leave the car for 5 minutes       someone will steal it......end of problem.

I think in that situation I'd wait for 10 mins and if the cops hadn't arrived break a window. Even if I went to court and had to pay, I'd still be ok with it as it's just the right thing to do. Even if it was a dog.

People that do this are morons, a broken window is at least a bit of hassle for them to deal with after

yea I'd wait for the cops... its $900+ for the small rear window on a GU..  I couldn't afford to shout some load that should have been found on a dunny floor that doesn't care for its kid a free window.

I would have thought the best window to break would be the windscreen, even though it would be the messiest and make the car harder to drive.
Replacements are generally easier to source and many are covered under comprehensive insurance although the owner may need to lie about the cause.

I wouldn't give a stuff about the window, just break the one least likely do shower the kid with glass. And a judge would have to be a moron if you got charged for breaking a window to save the kids life. I'd do the same if a dog was in a car and looked like it was in distress from heat.
