National R U OK day
« on: September 10, 2015, 09:00:50 AM »
As it is national R U OK day, I thought I would ask the question, are you OK?

Having battled with the black dog myself (having fought a war against CFS for the last 19 years) I know we all need support at some time in life.

Sometimes it's as simple as having someone lend an ear, which can seem to ease the load.

If someone needs to start the conversion, I know I'm not alone when I say, we are here, without judgement.

If you're not comfortable talking through a public forum, find another way.

Talk to family, friends or your doctor, just take the first step.

We are, each and every one of us, worth it.

What's CFS mate ?

Don't know about a black dog, but there are times when I think there may be a brown dog hanging around....being unemployed and old makes it hard to stay positive sometimes !!

CFS --> Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I have previously had 6 years off work to try and get on top of it. After 6 years I figured I needed to learn to live with it rather than try and overcome it.

I've been back at work for maybe 10 years now, which can be exceedingly difficult, add in three active kids under 6... :)

The work fronts do seem to be drying up, I reckon in the next week or two we'll shed another 5 - 6 men, on top of the 12 or so over the past month.

Good luck with the job hunt Gronk, as they say, nothing is permanent.
