i think that's the attitude many people complain about the locals having mate  ;) ;D ;D
I watched the show last night on the link provided above, it wasn't to bad a watch i thought, hardly worthy of the media beat up it copped before it went to air.
It's bizarre realy isn't it, Housos is actualy  popular with the people it's portraying witch is basicly taking the piss out of them and minorities yet a documentary based on fact and the lives of people is viewed as degrading or insulting.
Maybe to many truths on display for the public at large to see

I actually felt sad for these people. As a bloke that grew up on the "wrong side of the tracks" and made a committed effort in my mid teens to not die/become a drug addict or a professional dole bludger. What they need is more support & role models, if you have not been in that socio demographic you really do not understand the challenges that we take for granted. My initial thoughts after watching was how could I potentially help there plight, if more took the same view society would be better for it

Swannie

Very true mate  :cup: :cup:

Young boys all have the ability to become good men ..the issue is that the way their brains work they need to be shown the way.. they are very much monkey see monkey do.. without sounding sexist.. most of the issue is centred around the young boys as if they change they generally take a girl/children with them on a journey to a better place.

I always say to my wife if we won 30mill in lotto I would set up a bush camp for troubled young men, where they could be broken down shown how weak their perceived strength is and built back up again...To which she replies "id be happy if you could get our 2 to tidy thier rooms"  ;D ;D ;D

I take my hat off to people who have like swannie managed to escape from this cycle, I was fortunate to have a dad who worked 2 jobs and a culture that disrespects bludggers.

who knows what the answers are but handing out free houses and money has to stop... our country cant afford it for much longer, we are only 200 odd years old whos to say we will last another 200.

Jet ;D ;D

Its all good. The lawyers have got involved and the family may sue. They'll make a mozza and secure their future .  The family involved in the docco might even get some of that cash too.

Feel sorry for that unborn child of the woman kicking the door to get at the 'cone'. Poor kid will be suffering withdrawal systems from the day its born and who knows the long term effects on its health. Not a good start to life and then having parents like that bringing it up  :'(

You would presume all involved signed a waiver agreeing to be filmed, but they will probably plead they couldn’t read  ???

Very obviously the family and others involved were approached by the legal teams, not the other way around.
But who put them up to it??

Didn't see the show but I have been the Druit plenty of times. We didn't live too far away and my mates Mrs was a hairdresser there.

There is no shortage of money there I assure you. Any time of the day any day of the week you will find the busiest shopping centre in Sydney. Always crowded. It's a gold mine for owning fast food take always like pizza and burgers (until you get robbed)

You might see a few car wrecks lying around but most of the cars driven by the residents are younger or more expensive than what most of us are driving.

Dumped crap and graffiti everywhere...

It's like the guy that ran over his kid and killed it backing out the driveway and now wants it to be compulsory for every car in the country to be fitted with back up cameras.
Australia's one of the biggest nanny states in the world, probably the biggest. It's become to the stage where none wants to be responsible for anything and if they have to be they will sue you when it dosn't work out as planned. It's rediculous to expect aunt mavis to install 1000 bucks worth of reverse camera Shit or even 500 bucks in her 1974 toyota corolla just because you ****ed up and are living with the guilt and want society to share the blame. Rediculous. And the same mentality is rife in every facet of responsibility.sign an employment contract and while your oh officer is telling you he loves you and always has your signing the clause where he's just done biblical atrocities to your starfish

Lol, I went to my druitt take for 3 years, in the mid 90's. Was always an experience having lunch over at the shopping centre, and walking through the park to get there. Especially every Thursday fortnight as the dole office was just near there also. Lol

Ha Ha  I was there in 83-84 and85 ..What were you doing having lunch at the shopping centre Oldmate the Major Druitt (Pub) was closer
