P rating is fine for my usage case, I think...

For a 4wd...any 4wd, I would go a LT tyre, if only for the extra "toughness" of the tyre. Compared to a P tyre, they are stronger in the sidewall and carcass.

In a perfect world, with unlimited $$$, that’s fair, but for my usage case, I can’t justify the significant extra costs...

Is there a list of hotels in Victoria which are being used for the overseas travellers in isolation?

Rego isn't too hard, it's the TAC component that costs

Cause you rent 365 days a year to drive it and leave it in the garage for over 100 of those days.
Stand up, be counted.
Demand km based annual road cost.

Rego will be a thing of the past soon, as will be stamp duty.
GST will be upped to 15% across the board, food included.

Yep, since I have a work vehicle now the 80 spends her days in the carport, covid isolation hasn't helped.
August next year I can put her on Club plates, which will help :)

Car rego is bad enough, but some of the cost is allegedly used to cover wear and tear of the road.
Trailer rego is probably the same in the States that charge it, but as you can only tow one trailer or van etc at a time, multiple trailer rego charges are a blatant rip off. Why can't the government's charge as fee to register a towing vehicle premium?
I currently pay rego on a camper trailer, caravan, two different sized is trailers, a car trailer and a horse float.
Obviously only one can be towed legally at a time so the others aren't posing a threat to road damage and I would gladly pay a couple of hundred extra to register a towing vehicle.

well they can all be towed at once ;)

but why cant they assign you with 1 plate you use on each trailer. Change as required.

Prediction:
Tesla will offer to pay rego and third party on all Teslas and the States will agree.
Tessa will charge owners a km and conjestion charge that will, for the average distance driver, equal the rego cost plus a bit of profit. This will creep across other smart car makers to the point when they amalgamate the service to a single entity.
Non smart/legacy vehicles will require a smart box retrofit to comply.
States will close their Motor Registries as they become redundant.
Eventually, as commuters are not 'renting' road space daily, they will choose public transport/Uber/taxis, which being smart, will adapt routes and timetables to be efficient for the first time in history.
Now where did I put that other Dream Bean?

It will happen soon...especially with electric cars seeing fuel tax diminish.

In Vic it all goes in to Consolidated Revenue. AKA big bucket of cash that the government spends. Almost all revenue ends up there and is not earmarked for any particular spending.

I know I'm going to get slammed for saying this but, you very rarely hear about the good things Trump has done and maybe because the main stream media is predominantly democrat influenced. For example before the covid hit....unemployment was at an all time low, increased jobs and living conditions for blacks and Hispanics. He has more women in his government than any previous president. He is the first president to visit North Korea, and successfully averted a military crisis. He has never taken a salary since being in office, all his wages go to armed services widows and returned servicemen/women. He has protected and bolstered american industry. And by imposing trade imbargos on Mexico, they have agreed to close their southern borders (where a majority of the illegals come from). When Chicagos mayor refused to protect law abiding citizens property and rights, Trump went in and shut it down vertually overnight. You don't hear any of that in the main stream media. Like him or hate him, he is the president of America and you can't get there by being entirely stupid. Oh, and his press secretary in very pleasing on the eye.
