Hi Bart

Very interested in your hot water system, I would like to utilise the pump and gas fittings on my camper. It may open up more opportunities if the unit could just connect into these fittings.

Mate have done exactly what you are after with my hot water unit..

Go to your local gas supply place and get some fittings to make a T peice up for your gas, and to your local hardware store and get some air or nitto fittings and do the same for your water.

That way you can run every thing with having to connect and diconect, you will see the fittings made up in my trailer thread below

Hey Bart,

Thanks again for the Joolca. Once you figure it out it really just keeps on working. Finally had time to set it up so now I can't wait until the next trip.
GreenRV has been really kind with some ranger 95 litre water tanks. It means we can get a constant hot water shower for about 5 and a half minutes with exactly 25 litres of water. That's on the high pressure setting on the rose. I'm very impressed. I have put it on a trolley to make it easier to move around. I didn't really want it on the trailer because with my kids there will always be muddy feet if the shower is that close to the tent. On the trolley it actually packs down pretty well and all the other gear fits into the packing crate. I'll test it out for a week next week but I also can't wait for the winter holidays next June. :D

Cheers

Awesome setup!

Never thought of using hose clamps to mount the unit like that, great idea! Definitely going to be letting everyone know about that :)! Hope you don't mind.

Gday Bart!

Just touching base to let you know the HotTap is still putting a smile on our faces every time we use it.
Just wondering if you have any tips on how to try and make it a little more wind proof? I know you have to conform to all the Australian gas standards etc hence all the ventilation but I wondered if in your testing if you might have come across any modifications that help with the wind, but don't result in a melted HotTap!

By the way, the new units are looking pretty snazzy!

Hi Bart

I noticed on your web site that you have new stock of you hottap units coming on October 17, is the new unit the same as the current ones or are they a updated version, will they be the same price?

Thanks, Trevor

@ myminirocks

You rock :)! Great news that you are all still happy with the HOTTAP!

The product development guy is very creative, so, he likes to get into the design of the HOTTAP - he'll be pleased to hear the positive review on the looks of the unit.

I'll send you a PM so we can work out getting the unit a bit better in the wind. Please check your inbox!

@ timetogo

Hey Trevor,

The new unit will be a slightly updated version of the current model. It will look exactly the same as the current model does, but it will have one change.

The new unit will have an updated battery box design - it will be a custom moulded battery box.

The current battery box design does the job quite well, though, there is always room for improvement, true!

Aside from this it will have the same flow, heating, size, etc. specifications.

The price will stay the same for now. There are a couple other things we want to upgrade on the HOTTAP, so, over the next few months there will be a price increase.

After a lot of phone calls and a trip to the factory we finally got it working. We bought it for fathers day and we are going away next week and wanted to make sure it worked first. Lucky we did. We choose Joolca because there were no negative reviews to be found, and the once that started negative turned positive due to excelent customer service and after care. I second that, a lot of phone calls, thanks for your patients Jack, and a trip to their factory and at least an hour with Bart, we got it going first go. FYI take out red caps from pump first. Very very happy, may need another unit for the house lol. Highly recomend this product. Staff are very patient and helpful. Thank you Bart and Jack
Anyone not sure what unit to purchase, you can't go past the hottap. 10/10

Hi,

I haven't read through all the posts, so sorry if it's been covered.

Will these units handle mains pressure water?
Looking for something to supply hot water to the shower and sink in the shed.

GeoffA i am sure someone else will jump on with a better test view but when i first received mine this is how i ran it for awhile (about 1/2 hour connected via a garden hose) and it didn't seem to bother it. Not sure how it would go with constant pressure though so if you were planning to leave it hooked up for a while you may want to consider installing a ball valve before somewhere.

Sorry for the late addition here, had a couple days off last week and I have been playing catch up ever since. Haha!

@ Inky67

Thank you so much for the kind words :) It's always nice to read positive comments!

I'm happy we got it going and I hope it works a charm from here on. Keep us posted :)!

@ GeoffA

Rod and GG are on the right track, you can use the unit on mains pressure straight from your garden hose. The pressure is no issue as the unit is rated to 900 kPa (130 Psi).

When the unit is not in use for a while, I would suggest stopping water flow from the tap just to ensure no leaking/ fittings blowing off. They don't blow off on their own (I haven't had this occur before) or under mains pressure, but, it is always better safe than sorry! I would suggest the same when using any water supply (eg. pump).

@ weeds

Haha! There is always a trade off, isn't there? More water used, but, less time spent waiting. I think that's fair :) Enjoy!

Hi Bart. In the market for a new hws. Don't suppose you do a version that uses the coleman style gas bottles.

Hey feisty,

We don't have a version that uses the small bottles you're referring to. Though, the next best thing is that you could use the 4.5kg gas bottles (as long as it has a POL connection). I find that it is cheaper to run with than the small style gas bottles, but, I understand that space is an issue sometimes.
