It's only up the road from me.........I might organise to go and have a look.
I don't think it looks too hard to fix the damage.

It is up to $5100 and as far as Im concerned for my intended purpose that is now at its limit.

At first glance it is easy to think it would be an easy fix and there could be some money to be made but the more I know about it the less this is so.

The whole body whilst it looks ok on one side in the pics is actually quite bent and out of whack. Even the interior cupboards are out of square to the point that several of them including the bench top is kinked. So realistically what someone is buying is the chassis, suspension and any fixtures that are left over and can be used (the electronics have been wet).

So at $5000 there may still be a little bit of value in it for someone looking to build their own van/camper but its now at my realistic limit to get anything out of it that I can buy/make myself anyway for that type of money. Sure, the Asymmetric suspension they use is worth a bit and dare I say thats where the true $5000 of value comes into it but thats about it. And even then if I was serious, Id be taking a track and trammel gauge or at the least running a tape measure over some vital points to make sure the chassis is square still. Its taken quite a hit. The guy said "he thinks" a tree must have dropped on it but the forces are all pushing backwards right through the whole body so the tree must have been driving down the road when it hit it!
The opposite side (good side) front box is also damaged where the camper obviously jack knifed when it hit the tree that was driving down the road ;)

Anyway just my opinion once I've delved into it a bit more and slept on the prospect of buying to use some of it for my own project.

To me DannyG it looks like they ran into the tree branch the way the sheeting has crumpled. You would be opening a can of worms if you want to repair it. The chassis would be the only thing if straight, I would be looking at

about the same value I was thinking it was worth in the parts, if chassis is ok and diesel heater and other electrics were ok you could say that's the same as you'd pay for the gear normally. If you could use more of the van it's a bonus but I wouldn't pay any higher myself either

I'd suggest anyone interested in this to phone Graeme at track trailer it has quite a story!
It doesn't even have road worthy suspension under it and it didn't hit a tree, it went arse up apparently.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is 'going arse up' (in camper trailer parlance)?

Yeh I don't want to repeat everything that was said to me on the phone in a public forum but allegedly the owner felt as though the suspension caused the camper and his cruiser to roll over. However the gent I spoke to thought the damage done to the suspension may lead towards hitting a hole at speed.
They removed the suspension to have it tested and put a dodgy setup under it for transportation purposes.
He said they wrote in bright yellow with a paint pen 'not for highway use' on the dodgy suspension or words to that effect.
So without decent suspension it's not worth a lot IMHO

I am going to ring eBay man tomorrow to put a few things to him that I was told but it's buyer beware. All he has to do is act as though he has no idea (which he was to me) and given his disclaimers in his ad on eBay it's up the buyer to check it out properly?

Seller is called wholesale.caravans and has others vans listed as well as a history of selling damaged vans.  (See completed listings) Surely he would have the knowledge and ability to check if the electronics etc work, because if they did it would be worth more to him.

In response to a direct question regarding being a rolled van....

"That van was rolled over yes or No ? now be honest please."

"We dont get this information when they come in and can only assume what has happened like every one else. It is possible that it has rolled over but it looks like most of the damage is from the top. It has some scratches on the side as well. You are beter calling me if you want more info.
Thanks. "

I just cant bring myself to bid as it just seems like either a great oppourtunity or the worst decision of my life ..if it is what it is then 10K would be good for iyt  but just no sure and not brave enough. Far to many "assumptions" I feel.

Last time I checked the term rolled means the top becomes the bottom ;D ;D ;D would he be expecting to see under body damage in a roll over PMSL........

I put some very direct questions to him as well and he has dodged them so far so he is not being up front sadly.

I haven't given up though I am pushing him and now he is sending me some photos of the undercarriage. I told him exactly what the manufacturer said in regards to the roll over and temporary transport only suspension they put under it  (the manufacturer didn't tell me it was confidential or anything) and he is saying he knows nothing about it and as far as he is concerned it is the proper asymmetric suspension but so far won't confirm if it is ok and the original suspension but ill wait for the photos.

Im also trying to find out a heap of other answers in regards to the fixtures but he is so far dodging them. I haven't asked anything hard, simple questions such as "is the battery charger still in it", "is the hot water unit still in it" etc.

Ill keep you posted. As for the tree falling on it.....well the tree must have fell on the RH rear bottom panels too.....they are dented upwards!
