Hey Speewa, little bit far away to enjoy dinner or buy the groceries :'(, but in regard to T I cameras, a little while back I saw a reference to these: http://www.flir.com.au/marine/content/?id=73729&collectionid=1539&col=73732

At least one supplier at $838 with rrp of $899: http://www.bargainboatbits.com.au/Shop/Electronics/cameras-and-action/garmin/flir-ocean-scout-marine-thermal-handheld-camera

T I stuff is $ridiculous, but this may suit?

Good luck with your raffle! :D

So, we've moved into a new place, and there is a wood burner (woo hoo!) but no wood storage area... However, there is a selection of spare bits of colourbond from the construction of the house... and I have the lid from my Kanga trailer to use as a roof

We have:
  • Kanga Lid: 2100mm x 1250mm
  • Long colourbond: 2350mm x 510mm (2 of)
  • Mid Colourbond: 610mm x 850mm (ribs on the 610mm) (9 of)
  • Short Colourbond: 410mm x 850mm (ribs on the 410mm) (2 of)

The trailer lid is good as it has a pitch on it, and around the edge are 50mm flats, so easy to mount to something.

My thoughts are:
-Star picket and timber frame (low cost, can salvage some star pickets from a mate) or
-Proper post and timber construction

Any comments from others on this plan? It was spurred on by Scraps wood shed designs.

60-75mm treated pine posts not too much dearer than single star pickets these days considering you'd have to buy the longer star pickets to get any height. Trust me, you don't want to be bending down under an awning to retrieve logs.  Easy to screw cross rails and roof onto fwiw

Think Scarps has taken that out and some more. The wood pile has shrunk.

A bloke up this way is supposed to have started a grass fire collecting/pinching wood . After 18  trucks descended on the area & an overnight patrol ,,, sorted it out . Sad but he was sprung REAL BAD .. Having a chat to  :police: when last seen

Mate if you wanted a truck load of pine timber bearers I could organise that and not have to get a crane truck to Melbourne!!

I am sure I will be topping up the home supply of offcuts soon. But if anyone wanted some all I need is some notice. There are some bulk bags of offcuts (probably with a bit od saw dust as well) in the back yard at work I am sure they would love to get rid of. Could even assist in loading (and maybe delivery) if needed.
