Last night our mobile tower in Mullumbimby was set on fire. Because of that, there’s no mobile coverage into Greater Mullumbimby.

It’s shocking to see someone purposely damage a tower, especially when the community is still recovering from floods.

Time to prepare again

Sydney weather: Up to 500mm of heavy rain, thunderstorms to hit across NSW
After a brief reprieve of sunshine, large parts of NSW and Sydney are set for another battering of “significant” heavy rains.
After a short reprieve from wet weather, the rains are set to lash Sydney and large swathes of NSW once again.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued severe weather warnings for people in Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast and parts of Hunter, Central Tablelands and Southern Tablelands areas, with heavy rainfall to lash the southern and central NSW regions.

While Sydney residents have woken up to inclement drizzles, the heavy rainfall is forecast to begin from Wednesday afternoon, along with a danger of flash flooding.
BOM senior hydrologist Ailsa Schofield said the wet weather system could result in collective rainfalls across NSW of up to 500mm by the end of the week.

“On Wednesday we might see rainfall total in excess of 100mm,” she told 9 News.
“On Thursday we might see rainfall totals in excess of 200-250mm.
“On Friday we will see higher rainfall totals in excess of 150mm.”

The Brisbane Weather site is suggesting we might be in for another 300mm dump around the 14th June.   :o

Sure hope that isn't correct.

Just cold for this week, with 50kph winds with 90kph gusts.
Good way to see which trees can hang on with wet ground  all around.

it comes in quick

A Triple Zero emergency call fortunately was able to get out, despite the very limited phone reception in the area.

Emergency supplies of beef jerky kept at the hut sustained the bushwalkers until the dedicated police alpine rescue team, led by Detective Sergeant Brad Hughes, was able to get to them later on Tuesday morning and bring them out.

Such was the rapid deterioration in the weather and the accumulation of snow, conventional four-wheel drive vehicles were unable to gain access, with the Jindabyne-based police rescue team using their caterpillar-tracked Land Rover Defender to reach the hut as visibility in the area dropped below 10 metres.

The Silver City Highway from Broken Hill to Tibooburra and the Silverton Road are both closed.

This is Stephens creek on the Tibooburra road at 2am this morning. Touch wet...

Yeah sometimes, I was in Murgon this morning and loading back to Brisbane with H2 Wheat for flour. Only 15mths left and the trucks can get forked, I've had enough of the hours and dealing with F-tards on the roads, as well as the authorities and the hoops you jump through.  >:D

I will miss the sunsets and rises but that's the only part.  ;)

Easy to avoid. Time to do the dog fence come out a Waka Rd turn left for Cameron Corner. No signs saying road closed
