The sound of thunder, rain on the tin roof is very relaxing, :)
I do hope all is well for others.
It's broken up a little atm.

Not much Boom Crash Opera last night.
Woke up this morning to a nice drop of rain and it's still raining. :)

41mm in the gauge so far :cup: :cup:. Excellent rainfall for Nananago. Most of these events bypass us, splitting north and south about 5km west of town.
We've waited 45 years to do this. Now our life will be complete!!

Weather zone says we might get rain, but not a huge amount.
Weather girl on Ch. 10 says the same, but the chart behind says different.
Higgins says, we're in for a drenching, 100 in a couple of hours, flash flooding.... but not everywhere.
The frogs have been crocking since yesterday.
A termite hill down the back, has just had another floor  added to it.
Ants seem to be on the move.
I've just mowed and the place looks lovely.

I dunno, but i think my money is on the critters.

ha ha ha... could be.

Second dump is due to finish shortly, but a 3rd is on the radar.
At a guess, we've had better than 20mm so far this morning.

M5 in Shitney!

Currently a large stretch of the 29km motorway has been closed due to flooding. Both directions on the M5 East Motorway between King Georges Rd and General Holmes Dr from Beverly Hills to Mascot has been unavailable to drivers since Monday afternoon.

Son 1 was saying that the tunnels in BrisVegas apparently all stayed dry & open last week, so either these weren't designed properly, or something went wrong ???

Hope everyone is safe... pretty ****ed situation to be in - once let alone just recovering and copping it again....

From Evans Head up to Byron Bay, rainfall was recorded at 200 to 300mm an hour, causing dangerous flash flooding in the towns of Ballina and Byron Bay.

PREPARE TO EVACUATE - FLOODING
- #MACLEAN, #YAMBA, #ILUKA, #ULMARRA, #LAWRENCE

- 5:51PM, Wednesday 30th March

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting possible flooding for the Clarence River:

Clarence River at Lawrence and surrounding areas

Clarence River at Ulmarra and surrounding areas

Clarence River at Brushgrove and Cowper areas

Clarence River at Maclean, Yamba and Iluka areas

As a result, residents and visitors to these areas should take action now to prepare for possible flood impacts.

Low lying properties may experience impacts due to flash flooding and/or riverine flooding.

People in these areas need to closely monitor weather and road closures and make informed decisions early based on individual circumstances.

Residents should monitor the situation and be prepared to evacuate when instructed to.
:(
Just received another Text from the SES.
An Evacuation centre is open at the South Grafton High School, Tyson St South Grafton.
www.ses.nsw.gov.au Tel 132 500

We are fine up on a hill, but there are many farms, properties in the flood plain.
Poor buggars.

Hey Fizzie,
Cheers mate.
The link below is of the river systems of the Northern Rivers.
For the moment the rain has stopped, but there is a lot of water to make it's way down the Clarence River, Yamba Road is cut again at Pamlers Island. A lot of Yamba businesses have shut their doors, staff shortage due to closed roads.
Note, some river height stations below Grafton show a fall or steady, this is due to the tide.
Fingers crossed we don't get anymore rain.
