Ahh, the wonderful time collaboration of our illustrious leaders. The current version of the old railway gauge story.
My personal gripe is not with daylight saving (as I actually like it) but with the idiotic nong-nongs who decided to split a continuous urban centre (Tweed/Gold Coast) with a time warp line through it?
Try living 500m from the Qld & NSW border. We have for the past 20years. Then add in living in one state and working in another. Add a wife who did shift work in both states - for a real head spin!! Then friends living on different times. Plus "local time" phonecalls when your trying to sleep. Double checking cross border appoinments to confirm "what time are you on?" .....................and THEN they extend the period of time difference for longer!
After a few years there is no novelty in it - it's just like living in a bad version of "Back to the Future" with a one hour reset button.
Worst part is I arrive at work 1/2hr before I leave home

and to make it worse the short 30km drive home after work takes a minimum 1.5 hours every day!

That means I am at work at least a total of 1.5hours longer every day during daylight savings which I don't get paid for!!!!

Yup, just another political way to rip-off of the worker!

PS Got to admit midnight New Years isn't too bad though - as we get two
