replaced the broken perspex in the boat hatch - was broken when we bought it and was one of those things I promised myself (as much as anyone else) that I would fix it one day - today was that day! down to bunnings for a 600x900 sheet of tinted perspex (acrylic), drill out a few rivets, pull out the smashed stuff and use it as a rough template for the new and all done with a comparatitve minimum of cursing and swearing

Swept it out and lit the coonara.
Oh and measured annex poles for fitting in CT.
Build is under way for kitchen/ storage slides.

Not actually in the shed, but some of the bits are stored in there.
Assembling my 3 solar arrays to get the panels off the roof and into the sun.
Only been working on it for 2 years, you can't rush...............

Yep was plain & stained and a few cracks and dints
I use Duron products,  had some sitting here. It has a primer, basecoat & flake then 2 clear coats.
The epoxies are water based & even though the have a reasonable shelf life i prefer to use fresh product for clients so just tip the leftover into a bucket and use at home.
Now just got put all the gear back in

Productive day today, fixed the young fellas new Ali tray back so it doesn't wake the neighbours up with its rattles in the morning when he leaves early, put a new prop on the boat and ran an Anderson plug on the new patrol ready for Gympie Muster in the next couple of weeks. Oh yeah and to cap it off West Coast just beat the dockers. Life's good

Cut off the mud guard on the new CT and moved it up as the old owner has had the tyre rubbing. Moved the stabiliser legs and cleaned up one side.
Just the other side to go now. Back to the plasma cutter. No rest for the wicked

I know this post will not interest most but
Built my new all in one server/PC/NAS/VM machine to retire 3 other old PC's
Xeon E3-1241v4 CPU
16G ECC ram
Supermicro X10SL7-F motherboard
Fractal design R5 case
Seasonic 520W fanless power supply
2 x 6TB WD red drives


Is running unRaid base operating system to power the NAS which has VM capabilities so I can run Windoze 10 in a virtual machine. Is up and running and copying 3 TB of data onto it now. Much goodness.

particularly like the selection of motherboard and case...  do you have a preferred supplier?

Motherboard was selected as unRaid use them for their production servers (plus the same xeon cpu and have 14 SATA ports) . The case was selected as I like them and also it has room for 8 x 3.5 drives and 2 x SSD. Plus they are way cool.
Supermicro boards are hard to find in Aus so I rang their Aus distribution company and they referred me to Umart who ordered it as a one off special. Other than that I could have got it from Scorptec in Melbourne with additional costs for freight and time to get here. All other parts from Umart which are cheaper than me buying them from my wholesale suppliers.

so, is it just the the two 6tb drives in the unraid setup?  curious to know more about unraid....  never really used it before...

Starting off with 2 x 6TB, one as data and the other as Parity. Can add drives as you go so if I run out of space it is easy to add another. I also have 2 old 7200rpm drives (500gb and 320gb) as a cache pool. I will replace these with SSD's as funds allow.
I have been using unRaid for about 4 years now and is a great OS. Runs off a boot USB and is hardware agnostic so if your box dies just drop the usb and drives into another box and boot up again. Very easy on hardware too, my old box was a Celeron 2.4G with 1gb ram. They have just released V6 now with KVM and dockers hence the upgrade in hardware to run VM's. All managed by a web interface or command line if you are old school.
Very cool NAS software.

Should run like a dream. You can get a trial version for 30 days for V6 which can be extended if you ask nicely. V5 used to have a free for life option for up to 3 drives IIRC but no dockers or VM's.

Fitted my freewheeling hubs and diff and gearbox/transfer case breathers so its ready for the part time conversion and new clutch wednesday.

Didnt get pics of the breathers yet though

Removed the old 3/4 Bench seat and installed a factory console and passenger side bucket seat for SWMBO, hoping it may help her bad back a bit more.

3D printer is now running .local on home network. :D Next is to workout how to do internet logins.  Now Gen 1 Surface Pro is free from printer ready for another project. :cheers:

Well today being the first day of spring I had a spring clean. Now that it is cleaned up and there are some new shelves it looks much better.
Just in time to start working on the next set of stage sets. Two shows in the next 12 months. Annie jr and Addams family. There might even be a school production in the mix but who knows what that will be.

Changed the engine oil in my 25c David Brown. Still have the gearbox/hydraulic to do. Just need to do more Googleing to find out how many litres I need for that...
