Next door neighbour had a reasonable size gum tree in his back yard that got hit by lightning and died. He had it dropped about a year ago, and we have been conducting a long term study on the relationship between firewood V's alcohol consumption (turns out there is a direct correlation between the two, but it's not conclusive yet, were still studying).
Anyway, we've reached a point where the logs are getting a bit difficult to lift into the fire pit, so we were scratching our whatsies wondering what to do with the rest of the trunk. I remembered reading on here somewhere about a spate of mysterious camp chair disappearances, and not wanting to have our fold up camp chairs go missing, we decided to use the remaining tree trunk to manufacture some more permanent fireside seating.
A day on the chainsaws later, and we have 2 new fireside seats
and there is enough wood left to build another 6.
