Replaced all the bolts and Nylock nuts on my aluminium roof rack with stainless steel as the others were all rusting and corroding.

Next door neighbour had a reasonable size gum tree in his back yard that got hit by lightning and died. He had it dropped about a year ago, and we have been conducting a long term study on the relationship between firewood V's alcohol consumption (turns out there is a direct correlation between the two, but it's not conclusive yet, were still studying).

Anyway, we've reached a point where the logs are getting a bit difficult to lift into the fire pit, so we were scratching our whatsies wondering what to do with the rest of the trunk. I remembered reading on here somewhere about a spate of mysterious camp chair disappearances, and not wanting to have our fold up camp chairs go missing, we decided to use the remaining tree trunk to manufacture some more permanent fireside seating.

A day on the chainsaws later, and we have 2 new fireside seats  and there is enough wood left to build another 6.

Finally got round to fitting hammer-locks on the towbar, now I can fit a decent size shackle through them. Also making another trailer out of a ute tray but the spate axle I had was way too wide. I chopped it and put the stubs underneath to give me a bit more clearance for the tyres.

Are the shims under the king pin bearing caps correct...or to be precise is the preload correct?

only had one in each and removed them bout sux months ago due to wobble. wobble was gone till revently as I found loose wheel bearing.
once misses home from work today gonna re check each wheel by jacking it up and wiggling wheel.
push a little harder in corners on purpise last night to help seat bearings.

Thanks.
I ended up getting one sent from the states which took 6 weeks and cost me about $130
Some one used a different valve which was for a solar hot water service that worked and cost about $80 in Australia.
You might have to yahoo it.

Today I started on rebuilding stage risers for my daughters theatre group. They are 14 years old and we're just slapped together. So I have made them the same height and modified the wheel mounts so they do not collapse. All I need to do now is get some 12mm packing sheets to recover them. Lucky I know someone in the kitchen building business and I can get them for free.
I do still need to find the time to get them on a weekday.
Once I have finished these 2 I have a couple more to do after that. Then I get to start on the new show.
The new show is Pirates of Penzance. I think I need to build a ship and some other things. Always good fun.
Regards
Crispy

Got out of bed before the dawn , went to the shed & turned on all the lights .
Started sorting the scattered tools replacing them to their correct nail
Removed all the broken to be fixed stuff to take to the tip
Tidied the  storage racking so l can at least see whats there
Swept the new floor space created by the tidy up
Used the big Vac to clean all the sawdust & dust from where it was

And gave up telling stories that are complete BS                         not really      >:D        l did find the engal
& all that in 10002 posts
