Started the injector recon on my 1KZ-TE only to be thwarted by a faulty injector tester. This is a job I have been looking forward to because so few people do it themselves, yet is seems quite simple - I'm very curious. New tester ordered from Germany, hopefully it doesn't take too long to arrive - having worked closely with German teams before, I expect it will be in the mail by 9:15 on Monday morning
I also cleaned up my 18 month old Brown Davies bashplate. The paint is flaking quite badly, so I took off all the loose material (I got to use my new needle scaler
)and then gave it a couple of coats of Penetrol. This is the first time that I have used Penetrol - it looks like an oily varnish, but dries quite hard overnight. It will be interesting to see how well it lasts.
I also swapped out my Odyssey starter battery for a new one, however I'm not convinced that the old one is toast (I discovered afterwards that my in-cab voltmeter may be out by 0.2V - need to check/clean all the connections), so I'll pop into a battery place this week to have it load tested.
