Wondering if anyone has at their finger tips the size of the hole for a 2 burner Smev. I know the size of the stove, but I think the cut out is slightly smaller ?
The box that it comes in has a template. You cut out one of the sides of the box, and then stencil around it. It's a good system, and works well.
The stove has little arms on the underside - you drop it into the hole and then use a screwdriver to rotate the arms around so it doesn't come back out. If you want to do a pro job, run some clear silicone around the edge to stick it down nicely, and wipe off any extra.
We've got one in our camper - came with it installed. It's great. It's got a braided gas hose that curls up in the kitchen for storage, and clicks into the gas quick-disconnect when setting up. Takes 5 seconds. The quick-disconnect is one of my favourite things about the camper.
We installed another one into the father-in-law's stainless kitchen a few months back. Cutting the stainless was easiest with the angle grinder - the jigsaw just kept breaking blades. A quick clean up with a file, and it was good to go. When you do cut the hole, make sure you check beforehand for any structure inside the kitchen - internal dividers, double-skinned walls, support bars, etc. He had a mobile gasfitter come around and put on a long gas hose with a a regulator and a POL / caravan type fitting on the end to go straight onto his gas bottle. Not as easy as the quick-disconnect, but means he didn't need to worry about getting it certified. Only cost him $100 I think, of which about $70 was parts and material anyway.
Good luck, it's a great addition to a kitchen, just makes life easy and decreases setup times.
Cheers,
Matto
