There are very few properties in general that are fire ready.
You can say that again, people are widely optamistic in their abilities in fighting fires.
In 2006 a wildfire ran thru our farm near Mansfield, it took a whole strike team to save 1 farmhouse and hayshed. 34 CFA firefighters, 5 tankers, 2 slip ons, and a control vehicle, and 6 family members with another 2 slip ons. The numbers dont add up, it is hard yakka.
I will never do it again. If there is a next time, I will walk away and reduce risk to others.

Wat really pi55es me off is that we have pollies telling us that the system is ready (grabbing airspace on TV), and the next day the system crashes. Peter Ryan, bow your head in shame.
