Just paid the last minute check up visit to the sports ground. Picked up a trailer full of wood in the ex Excavator 6x4. Took about 10 minutes to do down Spring Creek road, 5km from the grounds.
Decided to leave the trailer at a mates place instead of at the grounds, in case anyone got there ultra early and burnt it all on me.
Made sure that the new showers (and older toilets) now have lighting (they do), and that the water was hot (yep).
Checked out the new kids playground equipment, it looks perfect for 2 - 4 year olds.
Checked out the newly painted concrete floor in the Community room, looks good.
Hot water here now connected, and microwave installed. Power points all working so I can connect up TV and DVD player for screenings of Last of the Outlaws and Ned Kelly (Heath Ledger Version).
Checked out the massive Van currently parked on the oval, a couple of grey nomads about to move on.
Paid a quick visit to the Tolmie Tavern to check if the
was cold, and if they had backup supplies. Ronnie and Robyn assure me that things are fine, they are ready for any additional swagger patrons who may turn up over the weekend. Ronnie also assured me that one of the large heaps of timber/branches in the Police Paddock next door to the grounds should be dry enough to make a large bonfire for us on one of the nights.
Quick visit to Stringbark Ck on the way back to Benalla to check out the vibes. Our visit there will be in the early morning, when you are there on an overcast evening, with the wind blowing thru the trees, it can be one of the most unsettling places I know of. Today it was beautiful, sunny and welcoming.
Anyway, looking good, role on Thursday.
