Have been going for a few years now and have 2 sites in Reid campground. The large police presence is still there and keeps the trouble to a minimum.
Last year we took the kids and they had a great time. Will keep taking them until they can bloody drive up themselves!!  Need to be sensible with the kids and have some rules but the wife was pretty comfortable with the kids there last year.

Last year was so wet that I'm glad we had 4x4 and the outback swan.

We usually take a week off and visit a few places on the way.

if you have never been to the mountain for the 1000, you MUST add it to your bucket list.
yes it will be noisy,  no you will not get a lot of sleep for the week.
but you will have a GREAT time and i am sure meet some new friends.

Hope to catch up with some of you at this years event :)

X 2 for the above comments,
its been a while since I have been back to the forum, been busy, away etc etc
I have collected a couple of push bikes to ride around the track late at night this year just for giggles (it takes to long to complete a lap walking at night)

occasionally we still open something and it smells of the Bathurst campfires from the mountain

cheers

we camp at Sulman park on the mountain every year i love my v8s the crowds are pretty tame now
we won the best campsite 2 years ago in the top 3 last year , taking the new ct this year campsite and portaloo is booked.
the better half is worried about smoke from the campfire going though the ct because i allways come back from the mountain smelly like smoke, cant wait ! And remember maythefordsbewithu.       lol

Off topic I know but how do you up load photos.

Click on the additional options link, just below the dialog box (when you are relying to a message) then browse for the ones you want. They must be less than 500kb to attatch.

Story today that all Grandstand seats have been sold. They are planing on some new grandstands with an extra 1000 seats.

Personally I get general admission tickets and move around during the race to different areas of the track.
