Hey Tagman.

I am not 100% sure. But I think it's either Monday or Tuesday.

It would have show on the web site when the camp site was booked.

But it no longer shows as everything is sold out.

I am booked into the paddock. And i know that's open now.  I will be there Tuesday night
:)

Forcast is for rain and storms on race day. Typical. I am going to get my ticket today.

Frosty to win this year with his car painted in the famous Moffat/Bond 1-2 colours :)

I am really looking forward to our annual Bathurst bash at home this year, I was loosing interest in the whole thing the last few years but this year I cant wait. For some odd reason I have had an incredibly lucky year (winning everything I enter when in the past I have never won a thing!) so I am feeling good about a FORD victory  :cup:

Have fun up there all you lucky swaggers and dont forget to post heaps of pics

Maybe next year, we could have a swaggers on the mountain get together.

I've never been to the race itself, so would be willing to give it a go.

Go Team Loundes.

Hi Guys
QUESTION:   Nothing to do with camping but instead to do with V8 touring car racing at Bathurst
I was at home this afternoon sitting down, turned on the TV and low a behold Bathurst time trials had started already.
I'm not a car racing fan what so ever..best bit of a car race is the beginning and the end  ;D and don't get me started on what a waste of burning of good fuel  ;D ..I can see Ive got your attention, and a few readers bitting....just kidding...just kidding..every one to their own but yep not my cup of tea sorry.
But I do have a question
As they are flogging the crap out of these things around the mountain trying keep the beasts in a straight line, trying to trim every milli second of their laps and at the same time "CHANGING GEARS WITH A STICK SHIFT"
QUESTION:..WHY haven't these mean machines gone to paddle gear shifts on the steering wheels ..surely the reasoning cant be that it doesn't conform to the model sold to public ,..cause nothing on these machines conform to cars on the roads.
Thought may be one of you rev heads out there may have a reason or view why they stick to stick shifts and I'm sure put me in my place..
ENJOY your race..have a good time....cause that's what lifes all about
Go the Holden rodeo ..if theres one racing

Cause paddles are for pansy's and go karts.

Real men pull a stick shift.

Cost.

A paddle shift required, solenoids, actuators, electronics, etc.  The sequential shifter they use is a direct mechanical linkage.
Cheaper and less likely to fail.  Plus these cars are still made up of allot dinosaur technology, H pattern shifters were standard up until 4 years ago!

2.5 hours to go.

Big big BBQ today at a mates place.

And they are not the only ones. Still a lot if main categories around the world still use stick shift.
