Last year we spent 3 months in the Kimberley and I think we would have to answer the question with just that, THE KIMBERLEY.  :cup:

Home.
my own little sanctuary, where I can close the door on life's issuesand problems.

Outside of that, its a big world and a big country, ,where to start?

I am jealous of all of you who have seen so much, been so far, experienced alot.

Maybe one day, maybe one day.

Till then, I love seeing your photos/reading your blogs/
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

So far for us it's a toss up between FNQ and the Gulf Country, the NSW/VIC High Country and Tassie, so far Tassie gets the nod, this may change once we get to WA, other parts of SA and the Top End of NT though.

Having travelled alot of my beloved country before I started high school and almost completing the navigation of it before I did leave high school, and still having various places that I still wish to see / be ... I have to say that the area around and north of Mt Isa was great (love the Jump Up country), as was the whole of the top end of NT.  My favourite place has always been the Kimberley and Kunnunura, but having visited Tassie for the first time in 2007, I have to say that the two vastly different areas have an equal standing in my heart now.  One can get sunburnt in Tassie just as easily as anywhere up north.   ;D

Owning camera's since I was 11, I guess I tend to see places differently to some others ... I see everything as that fantastic postcard you'd love to send home "I was here and thinking of you" ... or that perfect spot that makes people go "Wow!".

Where I live here in the Great South East of Qld, is one of the most diverse places to find a great spot and is very beautiful.  I guess living here makes it all the more hoo hum, but it has something to offer everyone ... including lots of rain at times.  I never realised how hilly the place is until I spent some time living in Darwin.  You can find many reasons to love my home range on my blog!

I have travelled the Gulf Country a number of times even across to kunnunura, from Monkey Mia to Esperance in Wa and the Cape so for where I have been I still love doing the Cape trip due to the challenge , the scenery and the water holes.

But there are so many places in Australia that have their own unique character.

Double Island Point mid week after the any holidays......generally empty and you start of on the southern side flicking for whiting on the high tide....surf from about 2hrs after high tide till close to low tide, then cruise over the point......yep I just got a key to the gates.......and then hit Paradise point at the end of Rainbow for lunch then surf or fish off the rocks at low tide.

Close to home, awesome day away from work sh!t and always offshore.

Its a three way battle for me.
Cape Mellville, loved it out there.
Adels Grove, camped down in the grove is fantastic.
Kununurra, we loved it that much we moved up there for a year. Its like a second home to us.

I love the Flinders Ranges and the dessert country in the north and west of SA, but i would have to say my favourite place would have to be Ahrnemland, so picturesque and untouched, definitely found a new appreciation for our greeat country in that beautiful part of Aus.

Would have to be a little place between Wyndham and Kununurra called Parry Creek Farm,
a truly magnificant little spot with plenty of sights all around the area

In my camper trailer/4X4? It'd have to be the protected beach along Rainbow Beach next to Double Island Pt.

A magic spot..

Hi,
so many really great places we have visited, each different in its own way.
Vast open spaces, huge skies and warm red colours on one end and cool moist forest and mountains on the other.
Some where in the middle is the beaches and sands with their blues and yellows; not forgetting the greens and browns of the alpine country as well.

The best place?  Hmm!

I suppose it has to be the place I wouldn't mind if I didn't ever leave.

That would rule out the deserts, the vast plains and landscapes, the very scary huge cities, beaches that go on forever, and country that takes weeks to cross. Yes they are fascinating and exciting places, so huge, so different: But I don't have to stay!

I guess I'm most comfortable with the Tasmanian landscape,  I can wander through it slowly, at my leisure, even a day's walking will cover a wide variety of country.

I have lived on the Mainland and overseas, and for me, Tassie is certainly the best place to return to.

cheers

There's no place like home.

SW Victoria and across the border to SA is such beautiful windblown wilderness. Doesn't fit in with everyone's idea of beauty but there are so many gems of places that people drive past on their way to somewhere else - Discovery Bay.

I'm noting down everyone's spots  ;D

Will try to visit some..

Ive travelled alot over the years especially throughout Australia and also done  some overseas locations. With the exception of Tassie, I've also lived and worked  in every state of Australia.

My favourite locations would have to be family trips away up those quiet little coastal town holiday areas of mid to north NSW.  Places like Seal Rocks, SW Rocks, Foster/ Tuncurry, Myalls Lakes, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Kempsy, Maclean etc.

These are trips where it's not exactly bush camping but the family does enjoy some of great holiday parks up that way when we are not doing bush trips.
