Hey guys,

I'm doing a story in the next issue on the Kelly Country trip and I'm after a few good pics from Tolmie and the Ned Kelly sites.

I was pretty wasted on cold and flu medicine for much of the weekend, so didn't get as many shots as I would have liked!

Get in touch at: carlisle  at  4wdtouring.com.au

Thanks! - Carlisle

Hey Mace,
After the great weekend we have done some more research and believe we have located the real Kelly tree.
It took some time trawling through documents and cross referencing photos but we recon this is it.
Some may question its authenticity but you can take it frm me this is the real deal.
So here it is.

"The Real Kelly Tree"

Kind regards

I like that - even better enlarged.

Neds armour looks a bit medieval.

A strange coincidence, I had not 3 minutes ago forwarded your Kellys Hut GPS Coords onto another interested party.

On our way there, we saw this bloke on his way up the Murray as we came down the hill with a fair wack of pace on ourselves, and he had done the same thing.. and low and behold, its a GU with Alloys, which he had fitted that day!

Turns out hes a bloke from my old club! Nobody else had stopped to my surprise and disappointment....

We unhooked his trailer and moved it as he had already arranged a towy and wanted to try and lock it up for him, The towy was to take it to I think Patrol-a-Part for repairs that night (the boys were going to work back to fix it for him, so  :cup: to them) so he could still have his long weekend.

Wheel studs, gawn.. Disc knackered and backing plate. Rim Ovaled out too.

Where the arrow is, is sorta where his wheel went as it was airborne... 100kph + pile of dirt (worked as a ramp) out of shot on right side = MAYDAY.. He found his wheel on the other side of the paddock apparently. He also stopped just before that gully..  Could hav been real nasty.

My cruiser did a similar thing as I was going around a roundabout. Very unpleasant experience, repairer thinks I must have disturbed someone who was trying to steal the wheel.

Anyone hear the news today? Apparently Ned will be buried next to his mother. We visited her grave from memory and we probably stood on the plot destined for him. Correct me if I'm wrong Al maybe I'm getting my wires all mixed up, must be all the beer  ;D

Spot on BD.

From what "Ive been Told" and as relayed to swaggers, the double grave plot recently prepared (we stood next to it)  is the anticipated resting place for EK.

There is to be a Public Memorial Service for Ned this Friday @ Wangaratta, followed by a family interment on Sunday. I think I will stay away, as much as I would like a look - It will be a Media Circus.

Great that the kids took it all in.

It will be  great releif for the Kelly Family to be able to return ALL of  Neds remains to his home country. I hear a rumour that there is some further big news forthcoming (possibly after the weekend)  on a missing peice of his anatomy.

I hope the rumour is correct.
