Would like some helpful info about the real offroad capabilities of the vans such as Jayco, Coromal, Goldstream.
Where has these vans been towed in and out of?
Still up for consideration as I have had total disc replacement surgery on my lower back.
But I will sacrifice comfort if it won't get me to where I want to go.

As per a previous post about the subject, I have taken my Jayco outback through most of the main centre tracks.
Oodnadatta, Strezlecki, Finke, Plenty, Mereenie loop, Birdsville, etc etc......
Had a few small hiccups such as a screw or two coming undone on the cupboard latches, but quickly fixed by applying a small amount of silicone and rescrewing.
A friend with a flamingo had his fridge door open, but we suspect it wasn't shut properly to begin with.
I did do a lot of preparation though.
Sealed all joins underneath with sikaflex, put on some stone guards and replaced rivets in clamps with stainless nuts and bolts.
We also had a serious stoneguard as anyone who goes out there will tell you, the stones give your trailer a hell of a hammering!!!!!!!!!!!
As far as chassis strength etc goes..........Take a look at the size of the thing. I doubt you'll break it.
Suspension wasn't a problem as long as you pay attention to tyre pressure and speed. Don't try to drive the Birdsville track at the same speed as the Stuart Hwy..........
Our trailer has done a heck of a lot of off road stuff and quite a bit in low range too and we've never done any damage or had any problems.
Clocked up over 20,000 k's at least.
Probably the worst we drove was actually the road into Lake Eyre from William Creek. It was shocking at the time we drove it. We just slowed down a bit and drove carefully.
It was rough and uncomfortable in the patrol but the trailer went fine. Didn't break a bottle or an egg.......
Had a sore posterior though
