My Camp-o-matic hard floor is insured with NRMA for $20,000 plus $4,000 contents, but no annex cover listed on latest policy (this has to be rectified).  This years premium is worth $413.99 and includes (if you believe them) Multi policy discount of $126.74 plus 60% no claim bonus discount of $532.33.  So their telling me that without any discounts this policy would be worth $1,073.06.  Yeah right!

That's strange,  ???

I am with AAMI for my CUB which is a hard floor camper. I think that the person you spoke to did not know their product.  >:D

Premium is $33.88 for full coverage in all areas of Australia.

Cheers, Chris

no worries mate, i removed a few things so my Fraser is only $43k..

make sure they insure is at a camper, and NOT a box trailer. it will cost more insured as a box trailer for some reason.

$200 excess and $1000 contents cover, but my contents are covered under my home policy anyway.

Be careful with some of these companies.

There was a thread recently where a company had a campertrailer down as a box trailer. You can only imagine what would have happened if the bloke tried to claim... although one bloke in the other thread had something like a 40k camper insured as a box trailer in their error until he straightened them out.

Im with CIL, as the know what an actual camper is.

I've just received my renewal ... things have changed a bit since last year.  Thankfully they've extended New Replacement out to 2 years to be competative.

I'm fighting with them over what is classed as a "standard" item and what isn't.  It's frustrating to say the least, but I know I'm gonna win.  ;D  They are already sending me an updated renewal with mutual agreements on it and I haven't even finished reading the PDS yet!

Rang GIO today $625 is the best they can do that's with my 60% no claim bonus plus a discount for another policy with them. I asked why so expensive and told her your quote Dan of $550 (I did drop the price to 43k) its because of where I live so according to them its the country is more likely to be stolen than Sydney ? you done alright Dan

did you confirm that it wasn't listed as a box trailer - very important, because my quote was originally over $600.. i'd call back and get a second opinion if you aren't confident of this.

what are they saying isn't standard?

I have two removable awnings and a removable tropical roof which come standard with the CT (all models) which they are saying I need to list and pay more for (because they are removable).  Pigs Rear I'm paying more for them.  I referred them to the website of the manufacturer and they "suddenly" changed their attitude.   ;D

for me, i had to seperate the cost of the canvas annex, to that of the main tent body - but it's not an extra, just listed seperately .. everything else was covered under the main camper cost.

I had to do the same but it didn't change the cost of the insurance regardless of the canvas component cost

That's no good about the delay. Mind you, better for them to get it right rather than you have to take it back. BTW, I believe they are having another open day later this month
cheers
