Thanks to everyone for thier replies,
It really was a case of thinking outside the square for us.
Lara has always done about 150ks per week and the cruiser has been fine for that ,but with the little tackka now at C & K , Lara does alot more driving and the cruiser at 20ltrs per 100. was killing us .
As well as the age starting to show on the cruiser ,So we looked far and wide and spent hours and hours looking at cars only to come to the conclusion that a nice big 4wd with power is not cheap to run no matter what way you try to do it. And the only way is to buy a smaller 4wd (not for me).
But then this idea was put to me to crunch the numbers on keeping the crusier and getting a small run around. And with what we paid it is perfect.Paid off outright in 2.5 years on fuel savings alone ,let alone tyres and servicing on the cruiser all but down to nothing as it will be a TRUE sunday driver now.
so I am very happy with the decision as well as thye fact that our eldest is 14 at the end of the year he will need a car in 3 years so it's about right time wise. (And he can start washing it from now so he knows how to do it).LOL
so I drove it home today and loved it it revs hard at 100k/ph but thats to be expected. The blutooth is great and I called Lara 3 times just to try it out.
Insurance was $425.00 for rating 1 driver so it was cheaper than I thought . And I,ve done 105kms and the fuel needle has not moved so I have already saved $19.60 over my crusier and $7.00 over my Commodore.
Its the first time I have looked at fuel prices and not cried ...
