Hey mate, were you at 2/4 round '90...  Ever wake up in the morning with your black and red coy signs painted with a yellow dot in the middle turning them into aboriginal flags?

Was that around the same time the donkey got sprayed red and black.    ;D

Yep, ayear or two later the poor bugger lost an eye from that same style prank but :(.  Used to laugh at how you lot tried to get up us by calling it the donkey when we hated the thing anyway.  Mean vicious little swine that would bite and kick you the moment you turned your back on it.

I remember an interbattalion rugby final where at the end the 2 battalions were about 1 heartbeat from all out war.  About 10 incredibly scared looking mp,s in between 2000 hyped up troops on either side of the field.   Your co had marched your lot through our company parade ground and prosser turned the sprinklers on. Eeeeeeehawww eeehaw

:)

if nissan made a prop plane using the zd30 - would you fly in it?

if fishing were easy it would be called "your mum"

I wasn't there at the time. I arrived at 2/4 towards the end of 93. But we got told the story and got read the riot act about touching the donkey, because of the eye lose incident. Clem was the RSM back then.
Crispy, Slater and Cowell became the CO and RSM  around 97/98.

Signed up in September 1971 and went to Kapooka then went to Watsonia Barracks for Signals training then posted to 135 Signal Sqn in Canberra until I got out in September 1974.   Would have stayed much longer but the ex wife (who wasn't an ex at the time) hated the life and made me choose.   Another wrong choice made and I got out.

Hey All,

Joined the RAN in 1985 Discharged Nov 2010 after 26 years.

Served all 26 years in submarines
HMAS OTAMA
HMAS OVENS
HMAS COLLINS
HMAS ONSLOW (X2)
HMAS DECHAINEAUX
HMAS WALLER (X2)

Orginally joined as an Underwater Controller (UCSM) then changed name to Acoustic Warfare Analyst (AWA)

Paid off as a WOAWASM

Miss the comraderie and esprit de corp. Although I served in the RAN I worked with the most dedicated and professional group of men an women in the world being the members of the ADF. I take my hat off to those who continue to serve.

Hey Crispy,

The name is familiar. Would be easier to put a face to it. I am pretty good with faces not so with names. Besides everyone knows each other by their nicknames.....LOL
