What’s Clarke said?  Is there a YouTube of it somewhere you could point us to?  The bit I saw of Nichols seemed to down play it a bit, but if the ICC aren’t strong on this, than Cricket Australia need to be.
fairly easy, you put the TV on and listen yourself.

thought it would have been easier and simpler to introduce the bowlers to the stumps at the other end of the pitch and tell them this is what you have to aim the ball at and make the ball hit the stumps.    The way our bowlers bowl it is no wonder they are in the position they are in and have reduced to cheating.  Pathetic school boy stuff.

it hasn't changed the result, the ball will be changed in 18 overs. Love to see all the arm chair experts come out over this.
sorry we aren't an expert like you and don't agree with your view of the situation. One ball can make a differance in the game, 18 overs is nearly half a 20/20 match...yeah i can see how it wouldn't mean a thing.

Didn't infer I was, was referring to all the press that has exploded. Who said test match cricket was dead. Any publicity is good publicity. BTW it's not a 20/20...

So if you think that the only way to win is by cheating then this is ok.  What a great message the Aussie team is sending to all the up and coming cricketers. How friggin hypocritical as well.  If you have to resort to cheating the the game is not for you. This publicity is absolutely not good.   I expected more from the Aussie team...colluding to win by cheating is just plain old bullShit .
Having lots of friends on farcebook is the same as having lots of money in monopoly...means absolutely nothing!!

Didn't say that either. Lots of clicks and eyeballs on test match cricket today.

Actually, they are all ball temperers aren’t they?  Usually it’s the whole team working hard to make one side shine.

In my mind at this point the result is irrelevant. That is an issue for the umpires to deal with on the field. The two real issues for mine are that 1. Our leadership team premeditated and planned to deliberately cheat and 2. Cameron Bancroft’s statement that you would think twice given the amount of cameras around (sic). On the first point Australians and Australian athletes and sporting teams have in the past held any form of cheating as something we just don’t do, and we have been pretty hard on those that do. I have always believed that while at times our behaviour has not been perfect, we have played hard but fair. We can no longer say this and it is a terrible loss. On the second point I believe that it is telling that the thought front of mind was not getting caught rather than whether we should cheat.

I know it’s only a cricket game, but this speaks to our national identity and frankly today I am both shattered and ashamed.

Yeah the two so called "gentlemens" sports, cricket and tennis really show what the modern Australian sportsman is made of doesn't it.
To me its not so much the ball tampering, thats been going on forever, its the premeditated planning that appears to have gone into it right to the top of the team, that the officals need to severely penalise. If Boof was on the radio telling them to get out on the ground and get rid of the evidence then surely he must go as well

And when this players group decided to rough up the ball, did none of them think that bright yellow sandpaper probably isn't the best thing to use. Not sure whether to take solace in the fact that if they are that bad at it they obviously haven't done it too much before or be disappointed that they can't even cheat well.

Probably shows how stupid they are, use a bright coloured piece of whatever to rough the ball & then when asked "No all I have is this Black cloth for cleaning my sunnies"

I think the saving grace from a ICC perspective is that if the umpires haven't changed the ball then they obviously hadn't been able to carry out their plan to any effect yet, so the gap between intention and outcome might help. The ACB shouldn't hold their punches though.

Just watched the footage of the coach hiding the radio behind his hand while telling the guys on the boundary to get out and tell Bancroft to get rid of the sandpaper. He's got to go too along with the entire senior group that was in on it. They all should be banned from ever representing Australia again

Smith, leadership group will be gone... the baggy green in aus is held in such high esteem and many kids look up to. The captain is a disgrace

One stupid thought and it has snow balled.
All involved need to step down NOW.
Sort ya selves out, leave the game.
Cricket Australia will build another team.
It will take time, but what will take the longest time, is gaining trust again.
Steve Smith, you are an idoit.

And so they should be, along with Lehman. I don’t care if he knew or not - a big part of his job is developing the right culture in the team and he has fallen far short of expectations.
