The missus makes me buy a fresh tree every year because she loves the smell.  I figure I could be a fake tree and give it a spray with pine o clean every year and I would be ahead.

Glade do a pine scent, or even an alpine fragrance.

We did the real tree once, never again. We have a real fake tree now. If the wife wants to smell pine trees I get a cubic metre of pine bark mulch delivered and spread that around.

Gee.... I hope your not spreading the pine bark around the lounge room.... !!! That would be one hell of a mess to clean up, compared to a real tree dropping pine needles...

I actually voted for a real tree. But not one from a farm where somebody makes money from my desire to please my kids.

On no.

I will take my exhaust belching oversized 4wd into the bush, in the process crushing small plant and animal life beneath it's mighty wheels.

When I find the right shaped tree I will cut it down and take only what I need, as to take more would be wasteful and greedy. Say 5% or so.

The rest will remain for other National Parks goers to use. That's only fair.

When I get it home, it will sit happily in between the elephant's foot umbrella holder and the Lion's head mount that I bagged on my last trip to Kenya.

The kids will be so happy.

No, not really. K-Mart for us too.
I got a sweater for Xmas, really wanted a moaner or screamer.

Thanks for a great laugh Darren!

I also found a very appropriate form available for quick download from that site:

Think I might use it here every so often ... but only in the electrical section.  Oh and at work too!

LOL!

Electrons are OK, so long as they're produced by some form of renewable energy, and are not fired off willy nilly.

I just hope this thread, makes a few people think twice about using real/dead trees.  If it saves just one tree it'll be worth while.
