I will check what sort of voltage drop I will get over that distance and if it needs replacing I will replace the run with some 16mm cable which will be more than enough.....I'll see how it goes before changing but I think 6mm would be the very min........

How exciting!! How long has the wait been??   We ordered our Trackabout almost a month ago now - waiting till the end of Feb.   Just as well we're coming into the busy time of year with work for both of us - will make the time go faster hopefully. haha

Hi All,

When I had a Jayco, I had the Eagle rather than the Hawk because the fold down table and chairs converts to a full length single bed (as opposed to a shorter single bed in the Hawk).

Hey Teabag,

Why did you go with one of 2Brutal's and not a Stone Stomper? I had sort of decided on a Stone Stomper but am happy to listen to reasoning. Could you tell me the price if you're happy to? And did you get the flaps on it or just the guard?

Cheers big ears.

I have a question for Jayco owners. Can you stack anything on the beds when packing away, such as, Table, bedding(doona) and maybe underlay matress of eggshell type? How much room is there or is it a pretty tight fit?

Thanks in advanced..... ;D

hi teabag

depends on the size of your matress but you should be able to keep a doona on top and underlay undrneath no probs
i dont think you would be able to stack a table on top tho

We had the Foam mattress in the Swan with the egg shell overlay on, use to leave sheets mostly, some times left doonas on but only for the shorts journeys between stops, sometime had to adjust roof clips. If raining cover the beds with cheap tarp which tucked under on 3 external sides, use to put doonas and pillows on the dinnette seats.

Same here we have the foam eggshell things on our mattress, if we are just on bituman I will leave the bed completly made up with doonas but if we are 4wding I lock it down a bit tighter and just leave the sheets

Cheers for the prompt responses. We have ordered the inner spring for the queen bed but am thinking on adding eggshell top to make it a little more softer, not keen on firm beds. I guess as long as the fitted sheets can stay then it isn't all bad. Do any of you store stuff on the floor in the camper on non skid matting? I would assume not but would be interested if people do? We would look at only soft stuff like blankets and pillows etc......

We've got the queen inner spring on our bed and have no trouble closing it up with flanny sheets and a really thick blanket in winter, We just pack the pillow on the lounge.
Don't have an eggshell overlay but have been meaning to get 1.
It also really depends how neat you lay/ fold the canvas ends when you close it up as to how easy or hard it is to close the roof down tight.
