The extras list seems to be getting longer and longer. Just added the 2nd water tank, doesn't mean I need to fill it always but gives you the option and it was only another $240 so pretty cheap really....... :cheers:

Hi Teabag,

I added an extra tank to mine (55 litre) , DIY from home as we go well away from civilisation when we go, and need to take plenty of water.  We have around 130 litres capacity and only use it for drinking and cooking.  For our family we can go for about two weeks before needing a top up.  We also take 4 x Coleman collapsible 20 litre water containers which then gives us another seven to eight days on top of that if needed, or we just go once a week and grab 80 litres each week to top up the tanks. 

Make sure you have an isolator between the tanks as we had a stone take out a plastic fitting on one tank and we lost one tank full of water.  easily replaced and guarded for next time, but still worth the isolator.

Enjoy your Hawk, I'm about to hook mine up for another trip up to Exmouth for 10 days.  YAY!  :cheers:

Cheers bud, Exmouth what an awesome place. I have had the privilege of going there a couple of times and thought it is fantastic, so is Kalbarri which is another fav spot.....

Nice work mate - should be a very well fitted out unit! If it's only been 2 days and you're already ringing up to add more options, I hate to think how decked out it's going to be by the time December rolls around!  ;D

I very nearly sprung for a second water tank on ours for the same reason you've mentioned - you don't have to fill it, but there would be times when it would be very handy. Eventually decided against it since in standard trim we'll have heaps more water than we're used to, and I can always fit a second one down the track if it proves an issue.

Enjoy the suspense between now and delivery date!

Impressive setup you are going for. I'm sure your family will be very comfortable on future trips  :D

We have two kids, 3 and 1, and we have found the hawk to be a great small family setup. We love getting away in our camper.

I see you are going the Ozhitch, i recently fitted one to my hawk and so far it has been great. Much easier than the poly coupling on my old soft floor.

Enjoy your new camper when it arrives!

I ordered 11 sets but haven't got the van yet, that isn't til mid December. I only ordered them yesterday in prep for when the van arrives.......

I'm now looking at a Honda or Yamaha 2Kva generator. This will also be used as back up power for Cyclone season........ :cheers:

Today I bought a couple of goodies for the Jayco in preperation. Picked up a new Honda 2Kva with cover and securing lock to power the van/AC when bush....hehehe...Also, bought a new Weber Baby Q with high lid for meat/roast cooking whilst away. Not too keen on cooking meat inside the Jayco.....The anticipation of arrival and first trip is killing me....... :'(

Yeah I recomend an outside BBQ - I don't cook inside at all (apart from toast) all my food prep is done inside (away from the flies) but all the actual cooking is done outside on a little BBQ.

Did you get the Baby Q 120? We're looking at getting one also. Q 100 or Q120? Be interested to see how the Honda goes with the aircon.
