Hi, we dont generally watch tv when camping but bought a Poltec 25 antenna when we went to Jindabyne this year. We figured it was worth it as we wouldn't be able to spend much time sitting outside in the cold. The reception was fantastic, and we had a cheap LCD, I think the cost was around $150.

I have seen The Redback Remote for his bush tv & ,,,,Kaz said " get up & do it yourself ", might have to perfect that a bit . Didnt work on my SWMBO either , I quickly came to my sences when I woke up later in the day :'(

I bought a 10" 12V TV from Dick Smith for about $200 I think - has a digital TV tuner, DVD, internal battery, and remote. Pretty happy with it.

[/quote]we bought the same. Small, light weight and easy to store. Fits in the draw under the seat in our swan. runs on 240v, 12v and a battery.

We have a 19" aldi special with built in DVD & USB player. Purchased last Christmas. Works well although I think the antenna connection could be a bit dodgy.
Use a boosted outdoor antenna from bigw. Digital channels good but analogue is crap

I bought a Vision_Digital 24" (ebay) LED TV the other day (it's supposed to be my Christmas present from my wife). It has DVD, PVR (which allows me to record, pause & rewind via USB) and is 12v. Plan to take it camping with us but so far it hasn't got past the Foxtel plug

. Pretty happy with it after a couple of days viewing. I will expand on that after next week.

Big W have a 10" AWA lcd with inbuilt dvd, card reader and AV input along with a battery inbuilt for under 200 bucks. It too can run off the cigarette lighter! We bought one of these a while back and it will not work with a Hd set top box but will with an SD. They do sell them now with an SD tuner inbuilt! I still struggle to understand why it does not work with a HD STB. I have yet to try another brand to see if that will work or not. having the built in battery is great to watch away from the camper for about 5 hours on battery power.

I was thinking of getting a small 60 inch LED tv for my CT and starting a new trend at camp sites by having a camp trailer drive in. Only joking.

That's actually not a silly idea. You can now get those small projectors. Throw a white tarp between some trees and you have a campout drive-in

I've done exactly that - I have a projector that I set up with a silver tarp - great for flicking through photos of the days adventures....

Sorry mate already been done.This guy pulled out this set up 1 night while we were camping once, started playing dvd,s kept a dozen kids and a few parents entertained for ages while we sat and talked around the fire.Is anyone thinking of looking at the Aldi tv I am thinging about it or any thoughts?Wife keen I don,t care TV no TV. Went for a wander through JBHifi today and ended up buying a Soniq 16 inch LED tv with inbuilt DVD, HD tuner etc. for $210. It comes with the 12V lead in the box. How do people store them when travelling?

We travel with ours in the original box and use to just leave it on the floor in the Hawk and never had any issues.

I have a TV tuner in my lappie. Plug in the coaxial cable and Bob was my uncle (then he got hit by a truck and died ... but he's still my uncle). Never even thought to use it. I guess I'd have to have the co-ax attached to something ...

Put in another vote for the bush TV ... I video a nice campfire crackling, frogs chirrupping, creepy loons looning, with my camera ... load it onto the lappie ... and when it's raining ... we watch that ... or play Micro Connect 4 (it's gotta be the smallest connect for on the planet) or do the horizontal waltz (I'm allowed to say that??).

The power supply with mine says 4A but I doubt it would pull anywhere near that. I ran it off my 7A/h battery yesterday for quite a few hours and the battery voltage hadn't changed.

The 12V lead that came with mine doesn't have a regulator it's just a cig plug to the 12V plug.
