I'm with you on this, from local councils to State & Federal, they seem to be spending coin like drunken sailors.
Surely this spending is not sustainable.

You don't use magic to disappear, ya use a 4x4 & Swag.
Victoria’s broke from ballooning interest payments, but athletes aside (who you have to genuinely feel for) the most vocal commentators will be the one’s now going to miss out on their share of the $4 to $6b

And all this within spitting distance of a city with some of the best existing sporting facilities all within a single tram ride from the GPO. Anybody been to the Melb Sports and Aquatic Centre?

Exactly what I was on about with Birmingham in 2022. I was cut price using existing facilities.

It doesn’t have to be a pi$$ing contest. Some pride needs to be swallowed to get the running and jumping back on track.

An existing track.

It would still burn through a couple of billion.

Was watching a show recently that pointed out that the first mega-Olympics were set-up & run by a bloke called Adolf, who wanted to show off Germany to the World.

Every country since then has "had" to go bigger & better to prove that they're the best ::)

Running & jumping - nah, who needs that on display ??? The rest of the World just needs to see how good I am! >:(

There’s talk here of holding them in Birmingham again. That’s despite the council having banned all non-essential spending.

If its so important to the monarchy to keep these games going, let them finance the whole thing.

To be honest, I’m surprised that Qld hasn’t decided to do the commonwealth games. All the infrastructure is already built from the 2018 games and as they would be planning on new gear for the 2030 olympics, they would get additional value out of any existing infrastructure and facilities. I’m sure that some of the Olympic facilities could be finished in time for 2026.

Sorry I don't have a link.
Just heard on the telly,
All vehicles are to be fitted with reverse cameras/sensors by 20??(sorry missed the date)
The reason, the amount of kids getting run over, in driveways, shopping centres.

Where is the responsibility of adults/parents?
Why are we becoming so reliant on technology?

Snatch strap & the bogged car came free all of a sudden? :'(

I witnessed a snatch strap doing that when it ripped the tow hitch off the bogged car. It flew back through the rear window of the recovery vehicle, got deflected down from the roof and exited through the windscreen, taking the front passenger seat head restraint off in the process. The passenger had just got out after two previous failed attempts.

In the British Army, kinetic recoveries are only allowed on armoured vehicles.

about time too

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-07-30/accredited-towing-course-needed-for-new-caravan-users-boat/102630908

It’s made the Daily Mail

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12354549/Calls-caravan-licence-introduced-Australia.html

The stupid thing is that they went the other way in the UK. Until recently, you needed to take an extra test if you wanted to tow a trailer over 750kg. Now you can tow a trailer up to 3500kg with an ordinary car licence.

Imagine how many different classifications of towing permits you may need
Box trailer
Small boat
Camper trailer
Large boat
Small caravan
Large caravan
The bureaucrats will have a field day. Government will need to employ another 1000  time wasters just to try and manage it.

So who’s lining up for a new 2.8L automatic 79 series 🤦???
What the hell are. Toyota thinking
As for the installation of the automatic, they could have taken a leaf out of Wholesale Automatic’s book
Not a very nice looking shifter installation

1kW less than the V8, which continues to produce 151kW at 3400rpm and 430Nm from 1200-3200rpm
the V8 will still out sell it 20:1

value of current ones just went up too!
