There is that, I suppose. I don’t need the job, so would likely be a bit more forthright in my opinions. Which could be refreshing.

I had that exact scenario a few years ago. Applied for a job, maintaining taxi communications and control systems. When I went for the interview they offered minimum wage, had barely adequate facilities to perform my job, and wanted me to be on standby 7 nights a week, for no extra money unless I got called out. They offered double bubble for the times I would be called out, but considering I lived 45Km from where the office was, it was pointless. The boss, doing the interview said he needed an answer straight away, because they had another applicant who was keen to take the job, and also had excellent technical skill.

I just stood up and said "Well best you put the other guy on, because he obviously desperately needs a job" end of interview.
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan.

Good on you Mark. Welcome to the life of normal people. I gave away interstate about 15 odd years ago. Like you say, it's good to get your weekends back and be able to have a beer at night. All the best with your new job.

There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

Before the world went crazy-

Good to see that their reporting is still as good as ever ::) >:(

A "Stirling 15 .22 magnum bold action" is NOT a shotgun, although, strangely enough, the "Boito single barrel 410G shotgun" is! ;D

& I might just jump in the TARDIS & pop back to clean the shop out of .22 ammo at $1.12 / box of 50 :'(
