Black dots are where we stay overnight & the red ones are the schools we visit and checkpoint.

This is the NHVR (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator) with their new vehicles ready to raise some revenue for the government.

Betcha your left one when loaded, that this vehicle would be exceeding its rear axle weights.

That guy on the video makes good sense, However...............

Gravity will soon take over and its friend ol' crack in chassis will appear.
How many times have we seen here on this forum, utes with standard canopies bolted to them crack?Answer, too many.

Do as i say not as i do yet again from the authorities.

Wow. What a storm in a tee cup.

Dimensions within legal limits of 60% overhang, and is 50% of wheelbase as per recomended factory maximums.
I can't image stretching wheelbase by 20mm via different springs being to hard.
Pretty sure I've seen plenty of tailshaft spacers advertised for lifted 4bys to prevent yoke coming to far out of transmission, and I can't recall howthe shocks are mounted but can't image to much of an issue.

And trying to compare with the mods allowed, or not allowed under VSB6......?
There is a heap of different rules between light and heavy vehicles as far as mods are concerned, why single out this mod?

The only real issue is mass, and just because the body is quite large doesn't mean it will be full, or that the heavy items will be stored ar rear of body.
The heaviest items are probably portable scales. Old ones used to weigh 18kg each, and VicRoads used to carry a set of 6, so 108kg, most likely stored right at front of body. More modern scal3s probably lighter.
What else are they going to carry ?
Height stick, tape measure, witchs hats.............

All in all they probably carry substantially less weight any of us would take on a weekend away.

And no, not trying to stick up for NHVR. I don't think a day goes by were someone there or some rule is trying to spoil my day. I have to keep telling myself if it wasn't for all their bearucratic bull I'd be out of a job   >:D

I might steal this.

I retired at the end of September last year. My old employer has just asked me if I would like to come back.

The problem, if you can call it that, is that over the last year I have got used to doing what I like when I like and having the time to do it.

I’m too busy to go back to work. :)

I tried that and got twice the workload of when I was full time. Also, the 'Agreed Hours' became a bit blurred.

I started back at work 5 weeks ago after almost a year off.
Best thing I have done is bring with me an attitude that I will do the best I can with what you give me but I cannot perform miracles.
As a supervisor on civil sites it has made life a lot easier.
And I'm actually enjoying it after the break.

I tried that and got twice the workload of when I was full time. Also, the 'Agreed Hours' became a bit blurred.
I basically had to retire again!

The place I worked has form for that. I saw too many colleagues go part time only to end up effectively  working full time for half the pay.

What doesn’t help is that there are no set hours. You are expected to do whatever hours are necessary to get the job done. If you like to do a job well, you can end up working lots of hours over and above, and I think that would be the case here. The bloke that took over from me seems to have made a bit of a balls up that would need un-ballsing.

There is that, I suppose. I don’t need the job, so would likely be a bit more forthright in my opinions. Which could be refreshing.
