Hi,
I have used Ozi for years, even on an old laptop Pentium with 1:250k Toppo maps.
Then with a defender and no room in the cab, I switched to Ozi Android, along with the same maps plus some more detailed for areas of interest.
Last trip we settled on the Hema App and a years subscription to the more detailed maps from State mapping agencies. Interesting, but only in mobile data range. You can download along a route prior to being remote if you are organised enough.
Mostly we just used the Hema maps, same format Australia wide and detailed enough for practical usage.
Google Satellite Maps were handy for finding spots to camp if in a mobile area. Even to finding better spots further off the road in documented Wikicamp spots.
The only problem with Hema was being heat sensitive and turning off the App if driving into the sun. I need to mount it lower and maybe near the aircon outlet. No such problem in Tas though.
I like Ozi for Tas, as I have a full set of 1:25k Tasmaps, but Hema will do just as well most of the time.
Cheers
