Rear camera for jayco eagle outback

Hi, I have purchased a camera to fit on the rear of our jayco eagle camper, should I wire it to the battery or is there power to use at the rear of the camper, also what is your experience as to the best spot to mount the camera. I have decided to use a camera which I can then view via my iPhone, which is one less screen in the car

Our's comes through to a screen fitted onto the rear view mirror, & is powered through the vehicle connection.

Best place for the camera is centre of the van, reasonably high, angled slightly down.
