Playdoughs, Jerrycans......Pfffft >:D

Get a real truck...One that will out last your warranty.
Yes I have a Patrol, yes it's a 4.2l diesel, and it's never given me any grief, even considering the flogging it gets off road, and it's never snapped a CV.  Eat that Tojo drivers  (except the ones that drive 60 series 8))

Dano.

P.S.    I heard JT has GU diffs under his rig........ :D :D :D

Yeh, the old GU is pretty good off road......but you have to get it to the bush......and thats why most people drive around in these modern type 4x4's !!!!!!   You can sit back, relax, and not worry about your fillings falling out of your teeth and not have to turn the stereo up full blast to drown out the road noise ..... :4x4: ;D ;D

I have to be careful here as I have one foot in the Nissan camp and one in the Toyota camp, but I think that then allows me to call all the others as wanta be 4x4. ;D
I am also a believer in the theory that you can’t buy them you have to build them,  :4x4: and if it doesn’t have 8 cylinders you are missing a few.  :D

Yes I agree jc, 8 pots are better......but what about a turbo diesel six, you know something like "truckzillas"  donk8).

I reckon that would be the goods, That way you get cheaper rego, and can still plunge into those deep rivers and bog holes...after you bought your Safari Snorkel!!! (presuming you meant petrol V8)!

Amen, must be built not bought.  Everything that could be built by me is "showcased" on my truck.  But I will draw the line at fuel tanks, just too dicey.....yes I've thought about it, and the more I think, the more I think they should be bought.  Just my 2c.

ohhh shucks your making me blush  8) ....  I must say though it is good when your out on the tracks and some one is bragging about how many RWKW'S they get with their v8 conversion and you can laugh and tell them you get that from a diesel running bigger rubber to boot.
The part about being built not bought ...well if i could have a truck this good off the showroom floor and saved myself all the headaches i would gladly buy it .

Yes, thought about maybe getting one of these imported for a work rig, then came to my senses....as in how much bloody diesel would they suck down!

But as far as a factory rig goes they are the most capable ever.

Twin air lockers 8)
44's standard 8)
extremely low first gear in low range 8)
Turbo diesel, snorkel height about 2.3m 8)
portal axles 8) ;D 8) ;D 8) ;D 8)

Love it!

Dano

Hi everyone,

Just for a bit of fun, I thought I'd add this in.........

I belong to a 4wd club that is 35 years old.
In the history of the club, not one driver has ever gone from nissan to toyota, but plenty have gone from toyota to nissan.

We do have one member who is bise+ual. He drives a patrol and a hilux. Bought the patrol after having too much trouble trying to blue slip the modified hilux.

To throw fuel on the fire, I have just bought a jayco (arriving soon) and hope to spur on the debate in that department....
He >:DHe >:DHe >:D
