The Grinch & his Christmas lights
« on: December 06, 2018, 05:16:49 PM »
Yep its over rated commercialised and all that, But its for the Kids ..
Thought the artistic types might like to post up pics of their Chrismassy lights wonder pieces and show us how it could be done ..
Just finished putting up a very basic few strings of Christmas lights on the house and in the back yard .. No rhyme or reason or theme and pretty hap hazard to their placement, but the young one and the grandson will love it .. Now to wait till dark,  ohh and charge up the camera ..

You’re right about the over commercialisation of Xmas, but for me the lights are one of the most traditional things about Xmas. I still remember as a kid, almost 50 years ago in Newcastle, going with mum and dad to check out the lights on Orchardtown Rd (I think) and I still enjoy checking out Xmas lights with the kids.

I hate them, all the cars doing slow laps up and down the streets for weeks sends my dog nuts. And isn't it just another Americanisation of traditions?  >:D >:D >:D
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan.

I'm with you.... rather squash my nuts in a vice than put up Xmas lights.

Yes, it is an effort, but it's once a year. The kid's and wife enjoy it, so it's worth my time.

Nuts in a vice or put up Xmas lights, easy choice, but each to thir own.

looks good...i put our lights up this year (no pics though), first Xmas we have been home in 4 years, so my kids asked if I could put them up....yeah it's some effort to do, but beats whinging on a forum I guess, and the kids love seeing them..

Looks good JD .. Makes my single run of Blue icicle lights along the guttering out the front  look pretty average  ;D    I know our garage is hiding a box of lights somewhere, that I might get enthused to find and string around the place .
