hey Mark, we've not released our final DB update (which is audited against wikicamps!) amongst others.
The only thing i would say though as you know is we WILL NOT list illegal sites (like wikicamps does). We work closely with the councils and states to ensure data is actually accurate and legal.
In the next 2 weeks our update will be spot on. (for legal sites). If you are willing to camp illegal like some yep we won't have them. All i can recommend is you use both apps. We will never be listing illegal sites that are not authorised camp sites.
Plus you gotta remember.. The following
We have a Web site as well, it all sync's across any and all devices.
Our information is sourced from many legit sources (as well as public, c'mon mark add those legal sites in
.)
Very detailed offline maps (and more coming) far better than anyone!
offline routing and distance calc's without using the internet ! (no one else can do that)
Detailed information in descriptions, with fully moderated data (because towns/caravan parks update free camps nearby in the other app!)
Our online trip planner is far more detailed and capable then anything else, with real route planning and POI's (which is also being released in the mobile app)
Services (Fuel, Medical and so much more)
Alot of other stuff as well. We are working on a comparision chart, you have to remember our focus is on giving the traveller legal information that is accurate and you don't have to "guess".
There's always gaps in the system and we do love the feedback as always on updating sites/info where required.
Most won't know this but we have over 70,000+ members real-time on the road uploading legitimate camps through our relationship with CMCA! They provide not "backpacker" info, but real info.
