No problems.
I bought a Canon EF 24-105mm L a few years ago.
New lens with a Kogan warrantee for a second-hand price.

Buyer beware, Kogan have great prices but terrible warranty, however I don’t believe cannon insists on warranty claims coming through the seller, only proof of purchase

They are fine. It's all grey import stuff, but genuine and good quality. They don't have a great reputation when it comes to warranty, but a lot of online businesses struggle in that way

Quick check on Teds Cameras finds Canon gear at the exact same price.

Kogan's warrantee will be better than a second hand lens's warrantee.

Bought my Nikon and all 4 lenses off them 4 years ago and still no problems...

...I see a potential issue here. 🤔 I did some reading into Canon's warranty when I was looking at helping some international students buy cameras. Certainly is a grey area with grey imports, so to speak.

From the ACCC:
Quote
If the product comes with a manufacturer’s warranty - that warranty may not apply in Australia, or depending on the terms and conditions may not apply to products sold as parallel imports.

From the Canon Australia website:
Quote
Canon-branded products purchased from other sources (including ‘grey’, ‘parallel’ or ‘direct’ imports) are not covered by this warranty. These products may come with a different warranty offered by the retailer or relevant sales company based in another country.

Buyer beware indeed...

As for Kogan, we had some issues buying a Kogan branded TV off them years ago. Things may have improved since then (and with name-brand products its a different kettle of fish), as this was roughly 4-5 years ago now. Happy to discuss our experience via PM but not a public forum for obvious reasons.
