Fraser Island
« on: April 02, 2018, 05:11:26 PM »
Hi
Just after a report on the beach condition from members that spend the long weekend over there.
I planned to go but change at the last minute and went out west for a hunt.

I see a lot of bogged and stupid people driving above the high tide mark, so just after some info.
Will be going there over the Labour long weekend.
Change is good, so smile and enjoy life!

With the easter tides and ex-cyclones cutting laps up and down the coast, I'd be surprised there is any beach left.

Mates arrived on Fraser today, there pics show heaps of beach where they were driving...they are camped near Eli Creek currently, and a drone shot of there fourby on the beach shows it plenty wide from what I was seeing.

Driving above high tide is the norm these days......especially on frazer as it a big place to get around and most don’t plan me.

Last year we had time on our side and our bed with us at all times which meant we could wait out high tide.

saw plenty of clowns doing it at Flinders Beach on North Straddie 2 Xmas ago also. It's easy enough to just drive the long way around, but it'd take 15 minutes longer.....and they wonder why places get closed  ::) ::)

Saw some pics today. A fair bit of rock is exposed. I’ll be up there for Anzac in a week and a bit.
