Black Duck vs MSA
« on: November 22, 2017, 01:59:56 PM »
I have only ever had black duck seat covers, they are sweet.

I need to get seat covers for my new twin cab.

Black duck $840

MSA $600

are the MSA just as good? any one used both that can review?

I would like to spend the left over $240 on beer.

Can't comment on the Black Ducks, but I've had MSA on the Patrol since new in 2005.

To say that the seats are like new underneath is an understatement. As the MSA covers have a cotton lining between canvas and seat seems to protect them. Not even dust got thru.....

Glad to help....... now, about my share of the $240 beer.......   ;D ;D

I'm like the above - only had MSA but they are an excellent fit and seats are like as good as new underneath.  And with two rug rats that spill anything and everything on them, I'm so grateful I have them as they look shocking so definitely saved the seats!

I have had denim covers in the Prado for last 2 years. Very comfy but probably won't last as long as the same in canvas.  This mob did a good price and were great to deal with when getting them made: https://www.supafitseatcovers.com.au. They do them in canvas as well.

Have a look at these guys. Back when I managed a spare parts shop we used to stock them. The were also the supplier for Toyotas' Genuine canvas covers back then.

I've got neoprene Supatrim covers in the Rok, they make the cloth feel a lot more like bolstered leather seats

I used to sell both BlackDuck and MSA and would buy the MSA in a heartbeat.  Much softer on your upholstery and less harsh to sit on than the Black Ducks.  MSA make a tradie version as well, but the normal two-tone was heaps more popular for a reason.

I had both. First black duck, mainly because my work Ute had a set, so bought a set for my cruiser.
After about three years I change over to MSA, no reason but glade I did.
All MSA comments are true and the main one is the price difference.
Change is good, so smile and enjoy life!

Yeah this was what I worried about, its a work ute so the stiffer / waxier is the preference they will cop a floggin

Prob stick to what I know and fork out for the Ducks

Gotya covered fitted to my cruiser.
Custom seats fitted and went in on the Monday to make sure they could make covers to suit.
went in Wednesday morning and they helped me fit em.
Great service and after 12 months of punishment so far can't fault them.
Cheers
