Help looking for a kettle to suit my generator

Hi I have just been given a older Honda 650w generator from my pa and its a ripper would be around 20 years old from my guess after getting it serviced from the local Honda dealer and replaced a couple of parts (was still running fine before this) it starts 2nd to 3rd pull. I'm over the moon with it, but now the other half wants a kettle to use on it but most kettles run around 1100w don't know of there are any around to run on a smaller generator? If  anyone knows of any or a link to that would be great

Head to Target/Kmart  & check out the range of smaller units . Should find something there .

A quick google search and you will find a few options. Do you have a 12V output as well? BCF sell a Waeco 12V kettle that apparently draws 20A (only 240W). The thing to keep in mind is that the lower the power the more time the kettle will take to boil.

If I was you I’d buy a cheap stove that screws onto a Coleman type cylinder and use that with a normal kettle. Cheap, quick, easy, compact and no noise.

Yes I can run 12v of it as well , what I normally use is a gas stove and billy but when the wind is up found it can be a pain to get of out of the weather

Just checked those waceo jugs out and I'm sticking to my gas cooker takes about 20min for one of those jugs to boil

The guy that brings most of the cooking gear when we go Bathurst each year decided this year to bring a 2kva genny and kettle and it was an absolute pain in the rear end. Time you started the genny which struggled to run the kettle it was no quicker and a whole lot noisier than boiling a billie, lucky i had thrown in a gas ring and billy.  If its just for a quick  cuppa have you looked at Jetboils that hikers use.  Expensive but a great bit of kit

For those that don't realise, kettles are the worst as far as putting huge load on generators! Even on my 5.6kva generator it puts a huge load on it. More than my 2hp compressor and dropsaw going at the same time!
Better off with using gas like others have said.

X 2 on the Jetboil, I have a Flash, boils  water super quick, I have a gennie and the jetboil is heaps faster than going to the effort to start the thing. We have a good gas stove in the van, roadside stops it’s the Jetboil every time👍🏻

I'm with the other guys. The gas stove type of kettle I think is simplest and easiest for camping situations.

A gas stove will boil a kettle quicker than an electric kettle and quieter at 6am.

For me Dual Fuel stove and kettle. Faster even than a gas stove but a lot of people don't like the dual fuel stove. We went away from gas years ago as gas cylinders are heavy and then you need to connect up to the stove by then I've boiled the kettle.

There is not a kettle that will run on a 650 Genset , they don't make them. B

l would get a carton of stubbies as you drink you can plan  . Rip up the empty carton to a desired shape . Tape it together as its an easy material to work .

Anything with a heating element will make a generator work hard. With all the losses in converting the energy from one state to another, you are much better off burning the petrol under a kettle than running it through the generator.

I have a 6.5hp Suburau motor on my generator and it pushes out around 2500W. It will happily run a cement mixer and multiple power tools at once, but plug in a blower heater and it really bogs down.

The 45kVa generators at work have a load tester for them that is basically a big blower heater. A great thing to stick in the corner of the shed for 'testing' on a cold winters day, but surprisingly small for the size of the generator you need to run it.
